An endoscope includes: a connector to which a waterproof cap is detachably attachable; an RFID tag that is arranged in the connector; an RFID tag storing member that has an opening and is made of a conductive material, the RFID tag storing member being configured to store the RFID tag; an opening and closing member that is made of a conductive material shielding a radio wave, the opening and closing member being configured to open or close the opening; and a moving mechanism configured to move the opening and closing member to a position of releasing shielding of the radio wave in conjunction with attachment of the waterproof cap to the connector, and move the opening and closing member to a position of shielding the radio wave in conjunction with detachment of the waterproof cap from the connector.
Serialization of single-use endoscopes
A system comprised of a controller; an endoscope comprised of a shaft, an image sensor, and a connector; and a target for viewing by the image sensor of the endoscope. The target includes one or more calibration objects. The controller is configured to receive image data indicative of the calibration objects from the image sensor, compare the image data with one or more predetermined thresholds, and calibrate one or more image sensor settings when the image data fails to meet the one or more predetermined thresholds.

A method of detecting a tool being received in a medical system, the method including receiving, in a tool recognition assembly having a first reader with a first detection zone, the tool having a first target. The method also includes acquiring first sensor data from the first reader for the first detection zone and detecting an indication of an absence of the first target when the first sensor data is within a first pre-determined threshold range and logging the absence indication. The method also includes creating an insertion signature associated with the tool being received in the tool recognition assembly by combining, in a chronological sequence, the absence and presence indications from the first reader. The method further includes comparing the insertion signature to a predetermined set of model insertion signatures and determining a characteristic of the tool being received in the tool recognition assembly based on the comparing.
CLEANING SUPPORT SYSTEM, PROCESSING APPARATUS, AND CLEANING SUPPORT METHOD
Based on image data obtained by imaging a state in which preliminary cleaning of an endoscope by a manual work, a cleaning status determination unit determines whether or not the preliminary cleaning has been performed on the endoscope. A notification control unit generates notification data regarding the determination result in the cleaning status determination unit and outputs the notification data from the output apparatus. When the cleaning status determination unit identifies a step that has not been properly performed, the notification control unit generates notification data including information regarding the step that has not been properly performed. The notification control unit may generate notification data including image data obtained by imaging the state of the step.
