The invention relates to medical devices for carrying out internal examination, such as laryngoscopes. The laryngoscope is provided with a camera element within a channel inside the blade.

ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM, PROCESSOR, CONTROL METHOD, AND COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM

An endoscope system includes: a processor that is connectable to a peripheral device; and a terminal device configured to communicate with the processor. The terminal device is configured to transmit terminal identification information, and an authentication result indicating whether a user of the terminal device is a registered user that has been pre-registered. The processor includes a communication circuit configured to transmit processor identification information, and authentication information that enables mutual communication, to the terminal device, and receive the terminal identification information and the authentication result from the terminal device; a connection determining circuit configured to determine whether the terminal device is a destination that is enabled to perform mutual communication based on the authentication result; and a communication control circuit configured to enable communication between the terminal device and the peripheral device based on a determination result of the connection determining circuit and on the authentication result.

SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS AND SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DETERMINING CONDITION INFORMATION THEREOF

An exemplary system includes a memory storing instructions and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The processor is configured to execute the instructions to receive, from a sensor of a surgical instrument, environmental condition information associated with the surgical instrument and detected by the sensor while the surgical instrument is disconnected from an external power source, the surgical instrument including circuitry configured to be powered and operate only while the surgical instrument is connected to the external power source, determine, based on the environmental condition information, an operational condition of the surgical instrument, and provide a notification indicating the determined operational condition of the surgical instrument.

ENDOSCOPE AND METHOD OF OPERATING ENDOSCOPE

An endoscope includes an image sensor and a first memory, which is a nonvolatile memory, storing first information disposed in a distal end portion, and includes a controller and a second memory configured to back up the first information disposed on a proximal end side relative to the distal end portion. The controller reads out the first information stored in the first memory and stores the read first information as a backup in the second memory when the controller is started when supplied with power, and reads out the first information stored in the second memory and transmits the read first information to a video processor when the controller receives a request from the video processor.

RFID medical device control interface

A medical navigation system is provided for controlling medical equipment during a medical procedure. The medical navigation system includes a passive radio frequency identification (RFID) tag, an RFID sensor for detecting the passive RFID tag, a controller coupled to the RFID sensor, and a robotic arm having an end effector and controlled by the controller. The RFID sensor provides a signal to the controller indicating presence of an activated passive RFID tag. The passive RFID tag has an antenna, an RFID circuit, and a switching device coupled to the RFID circuit for activating the passive RFID tag. The passive RFID tag is used to control a payload attached to the end effector.

EXCHANGEABLE WORKING CHANNEL
20200345216 · 2020-11-05 ·

The systems, methods, and apparatus disclosed herein are directed to an exchangeable working channel for a surgical instrument comprising a proximal portion, a distal portion, and an instrument channel configured to receive the exchangeable working channel. The exchangeable working channel may comprise a shaft comprising a proximal region and a distal region; an inner surface defining a lumen extending through the shaft; and an outer surface configured to interface with the instrument channel of the surgical instrument. The exchangeable working channel may further comprise one or more locking members configured to releasably couple to the proximal portion or the distal portion of the surgical instrument. The exchangeable working channel may increase a service life of the surgical instrument as a worn working channel can be exchanged with a new one.

A resin molding for a medical device has a base material made of resin, and an indicator including a cured product of UV-curable ink. An uneven structure is formed on at least a part of the surface of the base material. The uneven structure includes a plurality of recesses. The plurality of recesses each have a width of 10 m or more and 60 m or less. The indicator is formed on the uneven structure.

Upgradable video laryngoscope system exhibiting reduced far end dimming

A video laryngoscope system, comprising a laryngoscope blade coupled to a video monitor via a data cable. At least one of the video monitor or the data cable comprise logic to: identify the laryngoscope blade; determine which of the laryngoscope blade, the video monitor, and the data cable have a most up-to-date set of image capture settings based on the identified laryngoscope blade; and transmit the most up-to-date set of image capture settings to the laryngoscope blade for use in capturing intra-airway images.

APPARATUS FOR DECONTAMINATING EQUIPMENT HAVING INTERNAL CHANNELS (LUMENS)

A method of cleaning an endoscope in a computer-controlled washer/disinfector comprising the steps of connecting each lumen of an endoscope to a fluid distribution system for selectively conveying pressurized air or pressurized fluids through lumens in an endoscope; identifying the type of endoscope to be cleaned in said washer/disinfector; determining a blockage threshold flow coefficient for each lumen for said endoscope to be cleaned; pressurizing each lumen in said endoscope individually and determining an actual flow coefficient through said lumen; determining whether said endoscope is suitable for cleaning by comparing said actual flow coefficients for a lumen in said endoscope to said blockage threshold flow coefficient for said lumen; and determining whether a connection to a lumen in said endoscope is properly connected based upon said flow coefficient through said lumen.
