OBLIQUE TIP ENDOSCOPE WITH ZERO DEGREE FIELD ANGLE
Systems, apparatuses, and methods are discussed herein for an endoscope. The endoscope has a distal tip with an oblique portion and a flat portion, the oblique portion defines a plane that forms an angle between and including 20 and 40 degrees to a central axis of the endoscope. A related sheath may have similar features at the distal tip.
Single piece bending neck for an articulating ultrasound probe
A bending neck comprising a plurality of pivotally connected hollow links is formed by machining a tube to form individual, pivotally connected links. A second tube may be located inside the first tube and simultaneously machined with the first tube. Grooves are formed on opposite sides of the outer surface of the second tube to provide a passageway for control cables which control the articulation of the links. In a second implementation indentations are formed in the side of the single tube to form ring-like projections into the inner lumen of each link, through which the control cables may pass.
MEDICAL CAPSULE
A medical capsule, comprising an enclosure, the enclosure comprising an opening at one end along an axial direction; a PCB group and a functional unit which are arranged inside the enclosure; wherein the PCB group comprises a plurality of PCBs which are connected through flexible printed circuits and are spaced from each other, and the functional unit comprises a battery unit electrically connected to the PCB; and a pressure detection unit, comprising a pressure transmission film assembled at the opening, a pressure sensor positioned in the enclosure, and a pressure collecting and processing circuit board electrically connected to the pressure sensor, wherein the pressure collecting and processing circuit board is connected to one of the PCBs through a flexible printed circuit. The medical capsule is simple in structure, easy to equip and allows for expansion of functions as needed.
Contact-type endoscope SERS probe, and related methods
A contact-type endoscope surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) probe includes a gradient-index (GRIN) lens, a transparent substrate adhered to the GRIN lens, and a rough metallic layer adhered to an opposite side of the transparent substrate from the GRIN lens. The GRIN lens focuses light from a Raman spectrometer onto the rough metallic layer, and the rough metallic layer is positioned at the distal end of the contact-type endoscope SERS probe.
Information processing method, information processing device, and information processing system
A device, system, and method that: acquires information that a sterilized endoscope, having reusable and non-reusable parts, is used; outputs an instruction for collecting the used endoscope from a medical institution; acquires information on the number of endoscopes scheduled for inspection, a predetermined number of endoscopes not scheduled for inspection, and the number of endoscopes in an endoscope inventory; outputs an instruction for delivering a non-used replaceable endoscope to the institution in response to the collection instruction; and outputs an instruction for delivering a non-used endoscope to the institution when equation (2) is not satisfied, equation (2) being: endoscope inventory quantity>number of endoscopes scheduled for inspection+predetermined number.
Optical film, connecting member, endoscope camera drape, endoscope device, medical system, optical film production method, and connecting member production method
There is provided a new and improved optical film, connecting member, endoscope camera drape, endoscope device, medical system, optical film production method, and connecting member production method capable of suppressing quality degradation of a captured image while also protecting the endoscope camera from airborne droplets, the optical film provided on the endoscope camera drape including: a drape section that covers a circumferential face of an endoscope camera, and a connecting member which is provided on a front end of the drape section and connects an endoscope and the endoscope camera, the optical film being provided on the connecting member, and including: a reflection suppression section configured to suppress a reflection of incident light incident on the endoscope camera from the endoscope.
Encapsulated components of medical devices, and methods therefor
A distal end portion of a medical device may comprise an image capturing component; a light source; and an encapsulation having inner surfaces contacting and at least partially encompassing the image capturing component and the light source. A shape of the inner surfaces may be mirror image of a shape of exterior surfaces of the image capturing component and the light source that are contacted by the inner surfaces.
Imaging module
An imaging module includes an imaging element including a light receiving surface, an electrode surface on a side opposite to the light receiving surface, and imaging element electrodes formed on the electrode surface, a substrate including a first surface, a second surface on a side opposite to the first surface, and a first end surface facing the electrode surface, a cable portion having a conductor electrically connected to the imaging element electrodes via a wire on the substrate, a sealing resin that covers at least the first surface and the second surface, and an identification resin attached to a portion of the sealing resin on the first surface or a portion of the sealing resin on the second surface.
Digital-based medical devices
A skin measuring microscope includes a housing, an electronic imager disposed along an imaging axis, and an illumination system. The illumination system includes a plurality of LEDs disposed in a ring-like configuration adjacent a distal end of the housing.
Endoscope with integrated measurement of distance to objects of interest
The present specification describes a method for determining the distance of an object from the tip of an endoscope during an endoscopic procedure, wherein at least one lens is configured to converge light from outside the tip onto a sensor that includes a plurality of photodiodes a portion of which are adjacent pairs of photodiodes configured to be phase detection pixels. The method includes receiving light into each adjacent pair of photodiodes, wherein said light is reflected off a surface of said object; determining a first response curve to said light for a first photodiode of said adjacent pair of photodiodes and a second response curve to said light for a second photodiode of said adjacent pair of photodiodes; identifying an intersection between the first response curve and the second response curve; and using data derived from said intersection to determine said distance to the object.
