An attachable clamp for use with a surgical instrument is disclosed. The attachable clamp comprises a body portion, a first jaw member, a second jaw member and an actuation mechanism. The body portion defines a longitudinal axis and has attachment members configured to attach to an elongate portion of a surgical instrument. Each of the first jaw member and second jaw member extends distally from the body portion. The actuation mechanism is disposed in mechanical cooperation with at least one of the first jaw member and the second jaw member. Actuation of the actuation mechanism moves at least one of the first and second jaw members between an approximated position and an open position with respect to the other jaw member.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR VISUALIZATION AND ACCESS
20170340193 · 2017-11-30 ·

Methods and devices for visualizing and accessing a region inside a body are described. One embodiment of a device includes a working catheter which slides along an open track in a visualization catheter. The visualization catheter is inserted into the body to locate a region of the body with the aid of the visualization element. The working catheter then slides along the track to reach the region, and a working element is inserted through the working catheter to access the region, again with the aid of the visualization element. The methods and devices may also be used to access a variety of internal cavities, soft tissues and organs, and the mediastinal space.

LOW PROFILE ENDOCAVITY NEEDLE GUIDES
20170340308 · 2017-11-30 ·

A low profile endocavity needle guide device for an ultrasonic probe is disclosed. The device includes a needle guide and a clamp assembly. The needle guide is a tubular member configured to enable an elongated needle to be extended through it. The clamp assembly includes a first clamp member, a second clamp member and a slidable member. The first clamp member is pivotable with respect to the second clamp member between an engagement position and a release position, and vice versa. The slidable member is mounted on the first clamp member and includes a low profile projection which engages a ramped surface of the first clamp member to pivot the first clamp member to the engagement position when the projection is slid up the ramped surface, and to enable the first clamp member to move to the release position when the projection is slid down the ramp surface.

Medical systems, devices, and related methods

A medical system may include an insertion device including a delivery shaft with at least one lumen, a tube coupled to an exterior of the delivery shaft, and an adaptor coupling a distal end of the delivery shaft to a distal end of the tube. One of the delivery shaft and the tube may be configured to receive an energy delivery device, and the other of the delivery shaft and the tube may be configured to be coupled to a suction source to apply suction.

Methods and apparatus for treating disorders of the ear nose and throat

A device for dilating an ostium of a paranasal sinus of a human or animal subject may include: a handle; an elongate shaft having a proximal end coupled with the handle and extending to a distal end; a guidewire disposed through at least a portion of the shaft lumen; a dilator having a non-expanded configuration and an expanded configuration; and a slide member coupled with at least one of the guidewire or the dilator through the longitudinal opening of the shaft for advancing the guidewire and/or the dilator relative to the shaft.

Interventional sinus endoscope

An apparatus and method are presented for a therapy delivery device including a catheter, an endoscope and an endoscope shaft, one or more attachment features for attaching the catheter to the endoscope, wherein the catheter has an expandable lumen at a distal end and wherein the expandable lumen expands upon injection of a therapy at the proximal end of the catheter. Attachment features may be a series of clips along the length of the catheter for attaching to an endoscope or a second lumen on the catheter wherein an endoscope may through one of said lumens. Targeted therapy delivery may be a hydrogel or a chitosan hydrogel to provide a treatment within a sinus of a patient.
