Surface-mount device platform and assembly
A surface-mount device platform includes a surface-mounting region, a connection region, and a bendable region therebetween, each including a respective part of a base substrate. The base substrate includes electrically-conductive layers interspersed with electrically-insulating build-up layers. Each of the surface-mounting region, the connection region, and the bendable region spans between a bottom substrate-surface and a top substrate-surface of the base substrate. The surface-mounting region further includes an electrically-insulating first top rigid-layer, and device bond-pads exposed on a top surface of the first top rigid-layer facing away from the top substrate-surface in the surface-mounting region. The connection region further includes an electrically-insulating second top rigid-layer and a plurality of connector bond-pads each exposed on a top surface of the second top rigid-layer facing away from the top substrate-surface in the connection region, and electrically connected to a respective device bond-pad via at least one of the electrically conductive layers.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DEVICE-AWARE FLEXIBLE TOOL REGISTRATION
A medical system comprises a flexible device configured to be positioned at least partially within an anatomical passageway of a plurality of anatomical passageways within a patient anatomy. The medical system further comprises a memory device including computer executable instructions. The computer executable instructions are for performing operations comprising determining a deformation force exerted by a section of the flexible device. The operations further comprise registering a model of a candidate anatomical passageway of the plurality of anatomical passageways to a model of the flexible device based on: a shape of the flexible device; and the deformation force exerted by the section of the flexible device.
ENDOSCOPE NAVIGATION SYSTEM WITH UPDATING ANATOMY MODEL
An endoscope navigation system is provided that updates an anatomy model based on a live camera signal. As the endoscope advances within the patient, a camera signal, and corresponding position signal, of the endoscope, is provided and used to update the anatomy model based on identified divergences between the camera signal at a particular position and anatomy model.
Medical system with multiple operating modes for steering a medical instrument through linked body passages
A medical system includes a medical instrument, at least one actuator, and a controller. The medical instrument defines a central axis and includes a steerable tip. The controller is configured to command the at least one actuator to cause active steering control of the medical instrument according to an insertion control mode after movement of the medical instrument is detected and exceeds a first threshold value in an insertion direction and to deactivate the at least one actuator to cause the steerable tip of the medical instrument to move freely, without the active steering control, in reaction to forces exerted against the medical instrument by a wall of the anatomic passageway after axial movement of the medical instrument is detected by the medical system and exceeds a second threshold value in a retraction direction. At least one of the first or second threshold values comprises a velocity threshold value.
Dynamic field of view endoscope
The subject matter discloses a multi-sensor endoscope having a dynamic field of view comprising an elongated shaft terminating with a tip section; a maneuvering section connected to the elongated shaft; at least two sensors, wherein at least one sensor is placed behind the tip section, on the maneuvering section; and one or more illuminators located on external surface of the shaft. In some cases, the sensors include a camera. The subject matter also discloses a multi-sensor endoscopy system comprising an endoscope comprising a handle and a controller, such that the maneuvering section is controlled by the controller.
Surgical visualization feedback system
A surgical visualization feedback system is disclosed. The surgical visualization feedback system comprises an emitter assembly configured to emit electromagnetic radiation toward an anatomical structure. The emitter assembly comprises a structured light emitter configured to emit a structured light pattern on a surface of the anatomical structure and a spectral light emitter configured to emit spectral light capable of penetrating the anatomical structure. The surgical visualization feedback system further comprises a waveform sensor assembly configured to detect reflected electromagnetic radiation corresponding to the emitted electromagnetic radiation and a control circuit in signal communication with the waveform sensor assembly. The control circuit is configured to receive an input corresponding to a selected surgical procedure, determine an identity of a targeted structure within the anatomical structure based on the selected surgical procedure and the reflected electromagnetic radiation, and confirm the determined identity of the targeted structure through a user input.
Surgical Systems with Intraluminal and Extraluminal Cooperative Instruments
Surgical systems are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical system includes a first scope device having a first portion within an extraluminal space and a second portion positioned within an intraluminal space. The first scope device transmits image data of a first scene. A second scope device is disposed within the extraluminal space and transmits image data of a second scene. The first portion of the first instrument is present within the field of view of the second scope device to track the first scope device relative to the second scope device. A controller receives the transmitted image data of the first and second scenes, to determine a relative distance from the first scope device to the second scope device within the extraluminal space, and to provide a merged image. At least one of the first and second scope device in the merged image is a representative depiction thereof.
SURGICAL DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS USING MULTI-SOURCE IMAGING
In general, devices, systems, and methods for multi-source imaging are provided.
Methods and Systems for Controlling Cooperative Surgical Instruments with Variable Surgical Site Access Trajectories
Systems, devices, and methods for controlling cooperative surgical instruments with variable surgical site access trajectories are provided. Various aspects of the present disclosure provide for coordinated operation of surgical instruments accessing a common surgical site from different approach and/or separate body cavities to achieve a common surgical purpose. For example, various methods, devices, and systems disclosed herein can enable the coordinated treatment of tissue by disparate minimally invasive surgical systems that approach the tissue from varying anatomical spaces and must operate differently, but in concert with one another, to effect a desired surgical treatment.
Graphical user interface for displaying guidance information in a plurality of modes during an image-guided procedure
A method for displaying guidance information using a graphical user interface during an medical procedure comprises displaying, in a first mode of the graphical user interface, first image data from a perspective corresponding to a distal end of an elongate device. The first image data includes a virtual roadmap. The method also comprises transitioning from the first mode of the graphical user interface to a second mode of the graphical user interface. The transition is based on an occurrence of a triggering condition. The method also comprises displaying, in the second mode of the graphical user interface, second image data from a perspective corresponding to the distal end of the elongate device. The second image data includes a target indicator corresponding to a target location and an alignment indicator corresponding to an expected location of the medical procedure at the target location.
