Amine derivatives of benzoylbenzoic acid, benzoylbenzoic acid esters and salts were prepared, which are suitable as photo initiators for UV & LED curable compositions. The derivatives are compounds of Formula I, Ia, and II wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.1a, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, n and r are as defined herein.
