A DEVICE FOR VISUALIZATION OF INTERNAL TISSUE OF A PATIENT
A device for visualization of internal tissue of a patient's uterus, the device including a hand-held control unit, an elongated member, and an image capturing tip. To provide better light conditions, to reduce heat generation and related problems with excessive heating and to improve the ergonomic conditions, a device including an illumination structure having at least a first and a second optical fibre is provided.
Variable stiffness device, variable stiffness system, endoscope, and stiffness varying method
A variable stiffness device includes a shape-memory unit formed of at least two hollow shape-memory members connected together. Each of the shape-memory members is transitionable in phase between a first phase in which the shape-memory member is in a low stiffness state and a second phase in which the shape-memory member is in a high stiffness state. The shape-memory member in the high stiffness state has a higher level of stiffness than in the low stiffness state. Hollow portions of the shape-memory members are connected together so that the shape-memory unit has a lumen-like inner space configured to allow fluid for cooling the shape-memory members to flow. The variable stiffness device also includes a heating member configured to heat the shape-memory members.
Electrical feedthrough and medical device
An electrical feedthrough (1) is provided for improving the thermal properties and the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and also for simplified production of a medical instrument (7), in which electrical feedthrough individual contact pins (4), which are guided through a glass body (2) in a housing (20) of the instrument (7), are electrically connected to one another by a pluggable plug element (5), preferably in the form of a sheet metal part. Here, the plug element (5) firstly provides high thermal and electrical conductivity and secondly provides a shielding area that effectively prevents the input coupling of electromagnetic radiation. Preferably, the plug element (5) is formed in such a way that it independently develops a holding force for securing itself to the contact pins (4).
Video endoscope
A video endoscope including: an elongated shaft having an inner shaft tube and an outer shaft tube; and an electrical connecting element extending in a longitudinal direction of the shaft between the inner shaft tube and the outer shaft tube. Wherein the electrical connecting element is configured as a flexible printed circuit board with at least one conducting path which is routed substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the shaft, and the electrical connecting element is routed at an angle with respect to the longitudinal axis of the shaft at at least one location of the shaft.
Fluid filtration, cleaning, and defogging device
Presented is a method and apparatus for aiding medical procedures. An apparatus includes a housing defining a first opening, a second opening, and a interior, and a first cleaning element maintained within the interior relative to the first opening, the first cleaning element comprising at least one cleaning agent operable to remove extraneous debris from an object. The apparatus further includes a second cleaning element maintained with the interior relative to the second opening, the second cleaning element comprising at least one cleaning material and at least one white reference material, the at least one cleaning material operable to remove debris from an object. The apparatus also includes a conduit defining a passage from a first end of the housing to a second end of the housing.
Sampling capsule and sampling capsule system
The present invention provides a sampling capsule and a sampling capsule system. The sampling capsule includes an enclosure, a partition wall arranged in the enclosure, and a sample chamber enclosed by the partition wall and the enclosure at a first side of the partition wall. The sampling capsule further includes an inner sample inlet on the partition wall, an outer sample inlet, a sampling tube and a switch assembly. The outer sample inlet is on the enclosure at a second side of the partition wall. The sampling tube connects the outer sample inlet and the inner sample inlet, and the switch assembly clamps or unclamps a portion of the sampling tube. When sampling is needed, the switch assembly unclamps the sampling tube to sample liquid. When sampling ends, the switch assembly tightly clamps the sampling tube to prevent sample liquid leak or contamination.
Instrument shaft with several channels and its manufacture
A medical instrument for providing access to the interior of the body comprises a shaft having an elongated base body and a handle. The base body extends between a distal end and a proximal end of the shaft. The handle is coupled to the base body of the shaft at the proximal end. The shaft defines at least a first channel and a second channel that extend through the shaft. The first channel provides a passage for surgical instruments through the shaft. The second channel is adapted to accommodate an observation optics. The second channel is adjacent to at least one secondary channel that is connected to the second channel.
RIGIDITY VARIABLE APPARATUS, ENDOSCOPE, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF RIGIDITY VARIABLE APPARATUS
A rigidity variable apparatus includes: a rigidity variable member having a cylindrical shape, a bending rigidity of the rigidity variable member increasing by being heated; a heater having a cylindrical shape and arranged along the rigidity variable member on an inside of the rigidity variable member in a radial direction, the heater being configured to heat the rigidity variable member; a filler arranged so as to fill a gap between the heater and the rigidity variable member in the radial direction, the filler being configured to transfer heat from the heater to the rigidity variable member; and a tube arranged along the heater on an inside of the heater in the radial direction.
TIP LIGHT LARYNGOSCOPE FOR TRANS-TISSUE ILLUMINATION
A tip light laryngoscope adapted for the trans-tissue illumination during insertion of the laryngoscope, preferably in the mucosal fold between tongue base and the epiglottis referred to as the vallecula, includes a handle and a blade with a tip at the end of the blade and a distal light source at the tip to enlighten the environment in front of the tip. The tip light laryngoscope is designed to make direct contact with the mucosa.
Endoscopic LED light source having a feedback control system
