Magnetic resonance imaging apparatus
A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus according to an embodiment includes sequence controlling circuitry and image generating circuitry. The sequence controlling circuitry acquires magnetic resonance signals in an imaging region. The image generating circuitry generates an image. The sequence controlling circuitry sets timings of RF pulses such that a first time and a second time are different. Here, the first time is a time since an irradiation of a first RF pulse without selection of region until a start of acquisition. The second time is a time since an irradiation of a second RF pulse with selection of the labeling region until the start of acquisition. The second time is also a time for a liquid present in the labeling region to reach a desired position in the imaging region. The first time is also a time for longitudinal magnetization components of a background tissue to become substantially zero.
Apparatus and method for wound volume measurement
A method and apparatus for measuring a volume of a wound are described, the method comprising the steps of: applying a dressing over a wound, the volume of which is to be measured, the dressing including at least a sealing drape over the wound so as to create a sealed wound cavity; creating a vacuum in said wound cavity by vacuum pump means so as to produce a predetermined vacuum in the wound cavity; measuring a volume of air extracted from said wound cavity in producing said predetermined vacuum; and, calculating a volume of said wound.

SUCTION TOOL WITH INTEGRATED OPTICAL PROBE AND USE THEREOF
A device and method is provided for a suction tool combined with an optical probe. A suction device is provided having a tip with a hollow tubular body, a plurality of optical fibers embedded in the tip and a concentric ring attached to the tip, wherein the ring end has an inner beveled reflective surface opposing the optical fibers. A method is provided for optically measuring tissue in a medical procedure comprising suctioning a tissue using a suction device, sending optical signals along optical fibers through the suction device; directing the signals from the optical fibers onto the tissue using a beveled surface; receiving optical signals from the tissue in optical fibers via the beveled reflective surface; measuring the received optical signals in a spectrometer or detector; and releasing, resecting or ablating the tissue through the suction device.
ANTENNA ASSEMBLY FOR A TOMOGRAPHY SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to an antenna assembly for an imaging method, a use of an antenna assembly and a tomography system, in particular for MRI or simultaneous MR-PET/SPECT. An antenna assembly for an imaging method comprises at least two adjacent antennas, wherein each of the at least two antennas is designed as a J-pole antenna with a radiation section and a feed section. The at least two antennas are arranged alternately at a first angle and a second angle different from the first angle in relation to a reference surface. In this way, effective decoupling of the two antennas is achieved by simple means.
Skin elasticity measurement
A method of measuring a characteristic of a skin, including varying an air pressure in a chamber positioned adjacent to a skin, in which the chamber has an opening that exposes the skin to changes in the air pressure in the chamber. A plurality of measurements of surface profiles of the skin are made over a period of time as the surface profile of the skin varies in response to changes in the air pressure.
METHOD FOR PREDICTING RISK OF COGNITIVE DETERIORATION
The present invention relates to methods for predicting a risk of cognitive deterioration, monitoring progression of cognitive deterioration and diagnosing cognitive deterioration in a patient. The present invention further relates to methods for diminishing progression rate of cognitive deterioration in a patient by lowering brain iron levels in the patient or lowering CSF ferritin levels in the patient.
System and method for correcting intrinsic heterogeneity in magnetic resonance imaging
A system and method acquiring images of a region of interest (ROI) of a subject using a magnetic resonance imaging system. The system or method are capable of acquiring pathological data from tissue in the ROI believed to be pathological tissue and acquiring baseline data from tissue in the subject believed to not be pathological tissue. The system or method are also capable of determining correlation parameters from baseline data, generating corrected data using the baseline correlation parameters to correct the pathological data at least for intrinsic heterogeneity, and generating a report using the corrected data.
INSERTION UNIT SUPPORT SYSTEM
The insertion unit support system is provided for a tubular insertion system, and generates lumen information including the shape and location of a lumen based on the pre-acquired information about the lumen of a subject as an observation target that includes image information of two- or higher dimensional images, i.e., three-dimensional images or three-dimensional tomograms, so that the lumen information is used as support information for inserting the insertion unit of an endoscope. The lumens of the subjects targeted for the support of the insertion unit support system may vary in shape and location, and are deformed according to the shape of an inserted insertion unit. Thus, the support information is corrected and updated based on the deformation.
