Systems and methods for a spinal surgical procedure are described. Specifically systems and methods for calculating global spinal alignment are described.
FOOTWEAR FOR MONITORING HEALTH CONDITION OF FOOT OF A USER AND A METHOD THEREOF
The present disclosure relates to footwear for monitoring health condition of foot of a user. The footwear comprises one or more image capturing devices and a control unit. The image capturing devices are placed at predefined locations in the footwear to capture one or more images of the foot, when the user is wearing the footwear. The control unit is configured to receive the captured images from the image capturing devices. The captured images are compared with one or more pre-stored images of a healthy foot to identify differences between the captured images and the pre-stored images. The control unit detects health condition of the foot of the user based on the differences. Further, the control unit provides a notification about the health condition of the foot to a computing device associated with the user or one or more care providers of the user.
Vaginal biomechanics analyzer
The present invention includes a device and method for measuring skin elasticity that comprises: a probe with one or more holes, a vacuum source, a pressure sensor, and one or more infrared or optical proximity sensors aligned about the one or more holes, wherein the probe further comprises a raised area surrounding the one or more holes; and a processor for recording the deformation of the skin using a control unit comprising a microcontroller connected to the one or more infrared or optical proximity sensors and the one or more pressure sensors, to measure an amount of skin drawn into and out of the one or more holes to determine the distance between the one or more proximity sensors and the skin both inside and outside the probe.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SELECTIVE APPLICATION OF COSMETIC COMPOSITION TO IMPART UNDEREYE BRIGHTENING
A device and method for selectively applying a composition to a treatment surface (e.g., skin) to alter an aesthetic appearance of the skin in the undereye region of the face. The device includes an applicator applying the composition to the skin, and a detector obtaining image data corresponding to an image of an area of skin. The device generates a target reflectance value based on the image data and past image data. The target reflectance value is higher than reflectance of at least half of areas corresponding to the image data and past image data. The device determines a desired level of reflectance modification for a location within the area of skin imaged by comparing image data corresponding to reflectance of the location to the target reflectance value, and directs the applicator to selectively apply the composition to the location based on the desired level of reflectance modification.
System and method for residual cancer cell detection
Embodiments related to methods of use of an image analysis system for identifying residual cancer cells after surgery are disclosed. In some embodiments, the image analysis system collects a surgical site image and indicates on a display one or more locations of the identified cancer cells. In some embodiments, the method for identifying residual cancer cells comprises determining and selecting a portion of the surgical site image responsive to an intensity parameter; modifying the selected portion of the surgical site image to determine one or more groups of residual cancer cells based on size; and identifying at least one of the one or more groups of residual cancer cells from the modified portion of the surgical site image using a local-based threshold.
VESSEL LOCATION ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A vessel location assistance device having a housing with a proximal portion and a distal portion, an infrared light emitter adapted to emit infrared light from the housing to a patient and an infrared light receiver adapted to receive backscattered infrared light intensity reflected from the patient, wherein the received backscattered infrared light intensity is converted to a voltage and when the voltage is within a calibrated range the device indicates the presence of a blood vessel. The device may further include at least one wing with a slot for capturing the blood vessel.
Monitoring bone characteristics
The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus for monitoring bone characteristics for various conditions such as osteoporosis and/or periodontitis. In various embodiments, a dental hygiene appliance (100) may include: a handle (102) adapted to be held by a user; a tool (106) secured to the handle to perform a dental hygiene-related task; emitter(s) (114A, 116, 360A) mounted on the dental hygiene appliance to emit wave(s) (252, 362) towards a mandible (250, 350) of the user; sensor(s) (114B, 116, 360B) mounted on the dental hygiene appliance to detect wave(s) (254, 364) propagating away from the mandible, wherein the detected wave(s) originate from or are caused by the emitted wave(s); and a controller (108) communicatively coupled with the emitter(s) and the sensor(s). The controller may: receive, from the sensor(s), signal(s) indicative of the detected waves; and determine, based on the signal(s), bone characteristic(s) of the user.
Sensor Device And Carriers
Disclosed herein are systems comprising sensor devices that may be affixed to a patient and used to perform clinical measurements such as measurements for calculating a BASMI score. A first sensor device is configured to be successively attached to each of a wrist carrier, an ankle carrier, and a headset carrier. The carriers are attached to, or positioned next to, the relevant portion of the patient's body in order to perform particular measurements relating to generating a BASMI score. As the patient performs the routine of motions associated with a particular BASMI measurement, the sensor device records the measurements and communicates the measurements to a user computing device. A second sensor device is configured to be applied to the patient's torso and an additional measurement of patient flexibility taken and communicated to the user computing device. The user computing device generates a BASMI score from the recorded measurements.
ADJUSTABLE ILLUMINATORS AND METHODS FOR PHOTODYNAMIC THERAPY AND DIAGNOSIS
An illuminator for photodynamically diagnosing or treating a surface includes a plurality of panels. The illuminator further includes a plurality of light sources, each mounted to one of the plurality of panels. The plurality of light sources are configured to irradiate the surface with substantially uniform intensity visible light. The illuminator also includes a heat source configured to emit heat to a patient. The heat increases the generation of a photoactivatable agent and thus shortens the time needed to complete photodynamic therapy
Neuropathic Diagnosis and Monitoring Using Earpiece Device, System, and Method
A method of diagnosing and monitoring biologic dysfunction may include performing measurements utilizing sensors of wireless earpieces, analyzing the measurements, comparing the measurements to established norms, determining whether the measurements indicate biologic dysfunction. The measurements may include biologic data of a user or environmental data. The sensors may include inertial sensors or optical sensors. The biologic dysfunction may include neurologic dysfunction and the neurologic dysfunction may include intention tremor. The method may include reporting the biologic dysfunction to a user.
