Method and Apparatus for Detecting Scoliosis
A computer-implemented method of detecting and quantifying a spinal curve is disclosed herein. The method comprises obtaining an infrared radiometer camera, positioning the infrared radiometer camera for receiving thermal data for a spine of a subject, the camera being horizontally spaced about ½ meters to about 3 meters from the spine, scanning at least a portion of the spine with the infrared radiometer camera to obtain the thermal data, analyzing the thermal data using machine learning software which uses a classification algorithm to determine the presence of the spinal curve, and calculating a first Cobb angle for the curve of the subject's spine. Corresponding systems and additional methods also are disclosed.
Spectrometric analysis
A method of spectrometric analysis comprises obtaining one or more sample spectra for an aerosol, smoke or vapour sample. The one or more sample spectra are subjected to pre-processing and then multivariate and/or library based analysis so as to classify the aerosol, smoke or vapour sample. The results of the analysis are used for various surgical or non-surgical applications.

A medical treatment device is configured to be used during a treatment session at a first location and includes a medical treatment component configured to perform at least one of hemodialysis, hemofiltration, and peritoneal dialysis on a patient during the treatment session at the first location. The device also includes a monitoring system configured to receive data from one or more sensors connected to the monitoring system, and to confirm a presence of an authorized helper at the first location. A user interface permits an operator to control functions of the medical treatment component and the monitoring system is configured to perform the presence confirmation automatically and at the predefined time intervals during the treatment session. The monitoring system is also configured to generate an alarm and to cause the medical treatment component to go into a failsafe operational mode.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF HOTSPOT LOCATIONS IN BREAST THERMOGRAMS
A system and method for automatically detecting a location of a plurality of hotspots from a thermal image of a breast region of a subject by (i) automatically detecting areolar points (x, y) from the thermal image of the breast region of the subject, (ii) automatically detecting a plurality of hotspot regions on the thermal image of the breast region of the subject by performing a hotspot region segmentation method, (iii) calculating a plurality of radial locations (ri, θ) of a plurality of hotspots on the hotspot region, (iv) automatically generating a text report based on the detected location of the plurality of hotspots and (v) providing the detected radial locations (ri, θi) of the plurality of hotspots as a text report to scan the plurality of hotspots only on the detected radial locations (ri, θi) instead of scanning in the entire breast region of the subject.
PATIENT MONITORING SYSTEM
A contactless patient monitoring system includes a first imager configured to capture first image data of a target area within a first field of view. A second imager is operably coupled to the first imager. The second imager is configured to capture second image data of the target area within a second field of view. An emitter is operably coupled to at least one of the first imager and the second imager. The emitter is configured to emit light within a predetermined wavelength range. A controller is communicatively coupled to the first imager, the second imager, and the emitter. The controller is configured to determine a facial region of a person in the first image data, determine a region of interest in the second image data that coincides with the facial region in the first image data, and determine a coordinate of a head position within the facial region.
Apparatus and method for enhancing accuracy of a contactless body temperature measurement
An electronic device for enhancing accuracy upon contactless body temperature measurement is provided. The electronic device includes an image sensor for obtaining an image of an object, a temperature sensor disposed at a position adjacent to the image sensor for measuring a temperature of the obtained object, and a controller for performing control to determine the temperature of the object using a focal length of a camera module including the image sensor corresponding to a time of obtaining the image of the object and a temperature output from the temperature sensor corresponding to the time of obtaining the image of the object.
Hybrid imaging system for photodiagnosis and phototherapy
The present invention relates to a hybrid imaging system for photodiagnosis and phototherapy and, more particularly, to a hybrid imaging system for photodiagnosis and phototherapy, which simultaneously acquires a visible ray image or a near-infrared ray image and a lonq wave infrared ray image by using an optical method. The hybrid imaging system for photodiagnosis and phototherapy according to the present invention includes a light distribution unit, a visible ray/near-infrared ray measurement unit, a long wave infrared ray measurement unit, and a light source unit, thereby simultaneously and quickly extracting a visible ray image, a near-infrared ray image, and a long wave infrared ray image without mutual distortion.
System for Managing Personal Health Regimens based on Continuously-Adjusted Incentives
Systems, devices and methods for managing personal activities and health regimens are provided. In some aspects, a control system comprising specialized computer hardware and software provides instruction(s), warning(s), penalty(ies), encouragement(s) and incentive(s) to a user, based on such a health regimen. In additional aspects, such instruction(s), warning(s), penalty(ies), encouragement(s) and incentive(s) are also based on data from specialized sensors tracking a user's personal activities within a personal activity space. In some aspects, instruction(s), warning(s), penalty(ies), encouragement(s) and incentive(s) are adjusted in real time, based on input from multiple users. In one example, a partial giveback reward is provided to a user, in which part of a regimen goal that is exceeded is provided back to the user as one such incentive.
