USER MOBILE DEVICE INPUT INTERFACE WITH INTEGRATED BLOOD PRESSURE DETECTION
20220400958 · 2022-12-22 ·

Techniques are described for integrating blood pressure measurement (BPM) into a portable electronic device. For example, an input interface of the device includes an integrated force sensor. Human-discernable feedback is output to the user, while using the force sensor to monitor fingertip pressure being applied by the user on the input interface, to guide the user into a first condition in which capillary fingertip blood flow (CFBF) is occluded. The human-discernable feedback is then output to the user, while continuing to use the force sensor to monitor the fingertip pressure, to guide the user into one or more subsequent conditions that allow non-occluded CFBF signals to be sensed by one or more sensors (e.g., the force sensor, an optical fingerprint sensor, etc.). The sensed non-occluded CFBF signals can be used to generate one or more CFBF-based BPM readings for the user (e.g., which can be calibrated to arterial BPM).

Devices, systems, and methods can be used to suggest a discovery to an individual related to their health and wellness, including receiving data about the individual from a user interface regarding a goal for the individual, querying the individual regarding their perception of the goal, determining, a likely state of the individual (e.g., readiness to change), and selecting a subset of discoveries to display to the individual from a database that correspond to both the goal for the individual and the likely state of the individual. Displaying information may include receiving motion data including duration of motion, classifying a type of activity the individual is engaged in based on the motion data and likely intensity of the activity, and displaying a graphical user interface including a color spectrum, depending on one of the type of activity, intensity of the activity, or duration of the activity.

HEADSET FOR DIAGNOSIS OF CONCUSSION
20220395226 · 2022-12-15 ·

A system and method for detecting brain concussion includes detecting and measuring of acceleration at one or more points on a subject's head. Sensors, which can be accelerometers placed against the head, detect and measure natural motions of the patient's head due to blood flow in the brain and resultant movement of tissue in the brain. An observation is then made, as compared with data corresponding to non-concussion, of a change in frequency response pattern exhibited when accelerations are plotted as a function of time or frequency, to identify probable concussion. Preferably the observation and comparison are made by a computer using an algorithm.

Systems and methods for performing gabor optical coherence tomographic angiography

Systems and methods are provided for performing optical coherence tomography angiography for the rapid generation of en face images. According to one example embodiment, differential interferograms obtained using a spectral domain or swept source optical coherence tomography system are convolved with a Gabor filter, where the Gabor filter is computed according to an estimated surface depth of the tissue surface. The Gabor-convolved differential interferogram is processed to produce an en face image, without requiring the performing of a fast Fourier transform and k-space resampling. In another example embodiment, two interferograms are separately convolved with a Gabor filter, and the amplitudes of the Gabor-convolved interferograms are subtracted to generate a differential Gabor-convolved interferogram amplitude frame, which is then further processed to generate an en face image in the absence of performing a fast Fourier transform and k-space resampling. The example OCTA methods disclosed herein are shown to achieve faster data processing speeds compared to conventional OCTA algorithms.

Sensing and operation of devices in viscous flow using derived parameters to reduce data-handling requirements
11526182 · 2022-12-13 · ·

Devices, including robotic devices, operating in viscous fluid flow can use passive sensor data collected to represent fluid parameters at an instant in time to derive information about the flow, the motion and position of the device, and parameters of the physical system constraining the flow. Using quasi-static analysis techniques, and appropriate feature selection for machine learning, very accurate determinations can be made, generally in real time, with very modest computational requirements. These determinations can then be used to map systems, navigate devices through a system, or otherwise control the actions of, e.g., robotic devices for clean-up, leak detection, or other functions.

System and method for controlling an interior environmental condition in a vehicle

A system and method are described for controlling a vehicle interior environmental condition. A biometric sensor senses a biometric condition of a vehicle seat occupant and generates a sensed biometric condition value. A controller receives the sensed biometric condition value, a sensed interior environmental condition value, and a sensed exterior environmental condition value. Each of multiple exterior environmental condition values has an associated biometric condition value defined as optimal for the vehicle occupant. The controller determines the optimal biometric condition value associated with the sensed exterior environmental condition value, compares the optimal biometric condition value to the sensed biometric condition value, and in response to a difference between the optimal biometric condition value and the sensed biometric condition value, generates a control signal to control an actuator to control the controllable interior environmental condition to reduce the difference between sensed biometric condition value and the optimal biometric condition value.
