System and Method for Providing a Real-Time Signal Segmentation and Fiducial Points Alignment Framework
20180000426 · 2018-01-04 ·

Provided is an electronic device to monitor a user's biological measurements, where a sensor is configured to acquire a first signal from a user, and a diagnostic processor is configured to pre-process the first signal to generate a second signal, segment the second signal to form signal segments, determine at least one event location for each of the signal segments, match adjacent signal segments for feature alignment, and provide a third signal using results of the feature alignment.

ELECTRODE SENSOR KIT, ELECTRODE ASSEMBLY, AND TOPICAL PREPARATION FOR ESTABLISHING ELECTRICAL CONTACT WITH SKIN, USE THEREOF, AND METHOD OF ELECTRO-IMPEDANCE TOMOGRAPHY (EIT) IMAGING USING THESE
20180008165 · 2018-01-11 ·

An electrode sensor kit for establishing electrical contact with skin comprises at least one contact element and a preparation comprising a mixture of water and at least one lipid for enhancing electrical contact properties between said contact element and the skin, wherein said mixture forms an emulsion, in particular a water-in-oil or an oil-in-water emulsion, having a conductivity of less than 3 mS/cm. An electrode assembly for electrical impedance tomography which comprises said kit is characterized in that (a) said at least one contact element forms an electrode or sensor plate, and (b) said at least one contact element comprises a layer of said preparation.

Selective Characterization of Material Under Test (MUT) with Electromagnetic Impedance Tomography and Spectroscopy
20180011040 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method of extracting complex impedance from selected volumes of the material under test (MUT) combined with various embodiments of electrode sensor arrays. Configurations of linear and planar electrode arrays provide measured data of complex impedance of selected volumes, or voxels, of the MUT, which then can be used to extract the impedance of selected sub-volumes or sub-voxels of the MUT through application of circuit theory. The complex impedance characteristics of the sub-voxels may be used to identify variations in the properties of the various sub-voxels of the MUT, or be correlated to physical properties of the MUT using electromagnetic impedance tomography and/or spectroscopy.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO DETERMINE SURROGATES OF BLOOD PRESSURE

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for determining a subject's blood pressure using one or more implantable medical devices (IMDs). In an embodiment, a medical system comprises: at least one implantable medical device configured to sense signals associated with heart sounds of a subject and a processing unit communicatively coupled to the at least one implantable medical device. The processing unit is configured to: receive heart sound signals corresponding to the signals associated with the heart sounds; and calculate a surrogate of the subject's blood pressure using at least one heart sound signal of the received heart sound signals.

NON-INVASIVE METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ASSESSING SURVIVAL OF TRANSPLANTED FLAP
20180008164 · 2018-01-11 ·

A non-invasive method and system for assessing the survival of a transplanted flap involve the following steps. A control unit instructs a variable-frequency current generator circuit to generate a constant current at a fixed frequency and pass the constant current through a detection electrode. The detection electrode detects a bioelectrical impedance of the skin to which the flap has been transplanted, and the bioelectrical impedance of the skin is compared with a pre-defined threshold value. If the bioelectrical impedance of the skin exceeds the pre-defined threshold value, it is determined that an abnormal condition has occurred.

METHOD AND SYSTEM OF ATTACHMENT AND DETECTION OF ATTACHMENT OF A WEARABLE SENSOR TO CLOTHING MATERIAL
20180008195 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method and system of universal, secure attachment with attachment detection mechanism, of a wearable sensor-unit to any article of clothing worn around the body in order to measure vital signals of a person, such as motion, movements and activity levels. The method and system permits: reliable attachment to any article of clothing; an attachment in any position to clothing or fabric worn by a person; and detection for the wearable sensor attachment to an article of clothing to minimize false alarms.

Systems and methods for assessing sympathetic nervous system tone for renal neuromodulation therapy

Systems and methods for assessing sympathetic nervous system (SNS) tone for renal neuromodulation therapy are disclosed herein. A system configured in accordance with embodiments of the present technology can include, for example, a detector attached to or implanted in a patient and a receiver communicatively coupled to the detector. The detector can measure cardiac data and the receiver and/or a device communicatively coupled thereto can analyze the cardiac data to provide one or more SNS tone indicators. The SNS tone indicators can be used to determine whether a patient will be responsive to a neuromodulation therapy and/or whether a neuromodulation therapy was effective.
