Multidepth tissue oximeter

An oximeter measures oxygen saturation for two or more different tissue depths and shows these results on a screen. A probe of the oximeter has multiple different distances between source and detector sensors. One probe implementation has fixed sensor positions. Other implementations include sensors on a moveable platform or openings to accept sensors, which allow a user to vary a distance between sensors.

System and method for electrophysiological mapping

The signal quality of an electrophysiological signal can be determined from information regarding proximal stability of an electrophysiology catheter at the time the signal is acquired and temporal stability of the electrophysiological signal. The proximal stability information can include a distance between the electrophysiology catheter and an anatomical surface, a velocity of the electrophysiology catheter, and/or contact force between the electrophysiology catheter and the anatomical surface. Graphical representations of signal quality scores can be output to a display in order to enable visualization thereof by a practitioner.

Method of hub communication with surgical instrument systems

A method for adjusting the operation of a surgical instrument using machine learning in a surgical suite is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of gathering data during surgical procedures, wherein the surgical procedures include the use of a surgical instrument, analyzing the gathered data to determine an appropriate operational adjustment of the surgical instrument, and adjusting the operation of the surgical instrument to improve the operation of the surgical instrument.

One or more devices, systems, methods and storage mediums for performing medical procedure (e.g., needle guidance, ablation, biopsy, etc.) planning and/or performance, and/or for performing guidance of multiple probes or multiple needles, are provided. Examples of applications for such devices, systems, methods and storage mediums include imaging, evaluating and diagnosing biological objects, such as, but not limited to, lesions and tumors, and such devices, systems, methods and storage mediums may be used for radiotherapy applications (e.g., to determine whether to place seed(s) for radiotherapy). Even in instances where communication between a medical tool or needle guidance device and a system is wireless or wired, preferably guidance information is still gathered and transmitted, especially in instances where wireless or wired communication signals are intermittent or interrupted.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING CAPSULE ENDOSCOPE

A system and method for controlling a capsule endoscope is provided. The control method includes: measuring a magnetic field value of the environment in which the capsule endoscope is subjected; obtaining a critical magnetic field value for suspension of the capsule endoscope according to the magnetic field value; adjusting a traction force on the capsule endoscope according to the critical magnetic field value for suspension; and controlling the movement of the capsule endoscope in a horizontal and/or vertical direction, wherein the movement of the first magnet is controlled by moving the second magnet, and the capsule endoscope is in a quasi-suspended state as moving in the horizontal and/or vertical direction. The system and method reduce friction between the capsule endoscope and wall of the target area during movement by controlling the capsule endoscope in a quasi-suspended state, which makes the scanning of the target area more accurate.

Methods for detecting catheter movement

A method of detecting catheter movement includes positioning a first sensor in a first body cavity, monitoring a first parameter profile of the first body cavity, positioning a second sensor in a second body cavity, monitoring a second parameter profile of the second body cavity, the second parameter profile different than the first parameter profile at a first time, and, when the second parameter profile is the same as the first parameter profile at a second time after the first time, taking a catheter movement action.

System and method for catheter detection in fluoroscopic images and updating displayed position of catheter
11701184 · 2023-07-18 · ·

A method and system implementing a method for detecting a catheter in fluoroscopic data and updating a displayed electromagnetic position of the catheter on a 3D rendering is provided including navigating a catheter to a target area and acquiring fluoroscopic data from a fluoroscopic sweep of the target area. An initial catheter detection is performed to detect catheter tip candidates in each 2D frame of the fluoroscopic data using a shallow neural network. A secondary catheter detection is performed to detect catheter tip candidates in each 2D frame of the fluoroscopic data using a deep neural network. False-positive catheter tip candidates are removed by reconstructing a 3D position of the catheter tip and finding an intersecting point of rays corresponding to each 2D frame.
