11561126 · 2023-01-24 · ·

Certain aspects of the disclosure are directed to an apparatus including a scale and external circuitry. The scale includes a platform, and data-procurement circuitry for collecting signals indicative of the user's identity and cardio-physiological measurements. The scale includes processing circuitry to process data obtained by the data-procurement circuitry, therefrom generate cardio-related physiologic data, and to send user data to the external circuitry. The external circuitry identifies a risk that the user has a condition based on the reference information and the user data provided by the scale and outputs generic information correlating to the condition to the scale that is tailored based on the identified risk.

Augmented and virtual reality eyewear, systems, and methods for delivering polarized light and determining glucose levels

Various embodiments of a user-wearable device can comprise a frame configured to mount on a user. The device can include a display attached to the frame and configured to direct virtual images to an eye of the user. The device can also include a light source configured to provide polarized light to the eye of the user and that the polarized light is configured to reflect from the eye of the user. The device can further include a light analyzer configured to determine a polarization angle rotation of the reflected light from the eye of the user such that a glucose level of the user can be determined based at least in part on the polarization angle rotation of the reflected light.

A child safety seat checking system for a child safety seat of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, is comprised of at least one child safety seat, a first checking device for checking whether a child is located in the child safety seat, and a second checking device for checking whether a person supervising the child is present, wherein the second checking device is designed to operate in an at least partly portable manner in an operating state of the child safety seat checking system and/or is designed to operate regardless of an on/off state of the vehicle.

Method and apparatus for monitoring of a human or animal subject field

A method and apparatus for monitoring a human or animal subject in a room using video imaging of the subject and analysis of the video image to detect and quantify movement of the subject and to derive an estimate of vital signs such as heart rate or breathing rate. The method includes techniques for de-correlating global intensity variations such as sunlight changes, compensating for noise, eliminating areas not of interest in the image, and quickly and automatically finding regions of interest for detecting subject movement and estimating vital signs. A logic machine is used for interpreting detected movement of the subject, and an artificial neural network is used to calculate a confidence measure for the vital signs estimates from signal quality indices. The confidence measure may be used with a normal density filter to output estimates of the vital signs.

Electrical impedance tomographic (EIT) data (70) of the lungs (111) of the patient (110), concerning the ventilation process (90), are collected by an EIT device (30). An adjusting device (1), adjusting a ventilation parameter (40) for the ventilation process (90), has an analysis unit (2) with a memory (3), a data input unit (5) data-communicatingly connected to the analysis unit (2) for receiving data and a data output unit (7) data-communicatingly connected to the analysis unit (2) for outputting data. A medical system (100), includes a ventilator (20), an EIT device (30) as well as the adjusting device (1) for adjusting a ventilation parameter (40) for the ventilation process (90) of a patient (100).

OPTICAL SENSORS FOR USE IN VITAL SIGN MONITORING

The invention provides a body-worn system that continuously measures pulse oximetry and blood pressure, along with motion, posture, and activity level, from an ambulatory patient. The system features an oximetry probe that comfortably clips to the base of the patient's thumb, thereby freeing up their fingers for conventional activities in a hospital, such as reading and eating. The probe secures to the thumb and measures time-dependent signals corresponding to LEDs operating near 660 and 905 nm. Analog versions of these signals pass through a low-profile cable to a wrist-worn transceiver that encloses a processing unit. Also within the wrist-worn transceiver is an accelerometer, a wireless system that sends information through a network to a remote receiver, e.g. a computer located in a central nursing station.

Expended wear ambulatory electrocardiography monitor

An electrocardiography monitor is provided. A sealed housing includes one end wider than an opposite end of the sealed housing. Electronic circuitry is provided within the sealed housing. The electronic circuitry includes an electrographic front end circuit to sense electrocardiographic signals and a micro-controller interfaced to the electrocardiographic front end circuit to sample the electrocardiographic signals. A buzzer within the housing outputs feedback to a wearer of the sealed housing.

Personal impact monitoring system

A personal impact monitoring system is described herein comprising a monitoring station that receives impact events sent from personal impact monitors using a monitoring station receiver. The impact events which specify impact parameters associated with the impact events are stored in a data storage location associated with the monitoring station. Software operating on the operating station is configured to receive the impact events from the data storage location and to perform calculations based on the impact events to identify notable impact events.
