Forced oscillation technique based lung function testing
An apparatus for patient's lung function testing using forced oscillation technique is described. The apparatus includes a sub-woofer configured to generate a pressure wave. The apparatus further includes a waveguide configured to direct the generated pressure wave to be introduced into airflow towards the patient's lung. The apparatus includes a pressure transducer configured to measure a change in pressure of the airflow and one or more flow transducers configured to measure a change in flowrate of the airflow, in response to the pressure wave introduced into the airflow. The apparatus includes a computing unit configured to determine a mechanical impedance of the patient's lung based on the measured change in pressure and flowrate of the airflow.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR BIOIMPEDANCE BODY COMPOSITION MEASUREMENT
There is provided a system for monitoring a heart of a subject and monitoring impedance-related parameters, comprising: a feeding tube, an electrode disposed(s) on a distal end of the feeding tube, a controller that performs, while the feeding tube is in located in an esophagus and feeding is delivered to a subject via the feeding tube, in a plurality of iterations: continuously measuring voltage at the electrode(s) of the feeding tube, applying alternating current(s) between the electrode(s) of the feeding tube and at least one other electrode, computing impedance measurement(s) from the electrode(s) of the feeding tube according to the applied alternating current(s) and the measured voltage, computing impedance-related parameter(s) based on the impedance measurement(s), terminating the application of the alternating current(s), obtaining an electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement based on the voltage measured at the electrode(s) of the feeding tube, and providing the impedance-related parameter(s) and the ECG measurement.
Systems and methods for non-contact multiparameter vital signs monitoring, apnea therapy, apnea diagnosis, and snore therapy
Aspects of the of the disclosure relate to a non-contact physiological motion sensor and a monitor device that can incorporate use of the Doppler effect. A continuous wave of electromagnetic radiation can be transmitted toward one or more subjects and the Doppler-shifted received signals can be digitized and/or processed subsequently to extract information related to the cardiopulmonary motion in the one or more subjects. The extracted information can be used, for example, to determine apneic events and/or snoring events and/or to provide apnea or snoring therapy to subjects when used in conjunction with an apnea or snoring therapy device. In addition, methods of use are disclosed for sway cancellation, realization of cessation of breath, integration with multi-parameter patient monitoring systems, providing positive providing patient identification, or any combination thereof.
Breathing training, monitoring and/or assistance device
A breathing training, monitoring and/or assistance device is provided for home use. The device is for providing support and guidance during the training of breathing exercises. The device takes account of external data which relates to one or more of: the environmental conditions in which the device is being used; activity information in respect of the user; physiological sensor data about the user which is not related to breathing characteristics.

Detection of respiratory disorders
Systems and methods for monitoring pulmonary edema and/or pulmonary congestion are based on changes in impedance parameters that are indicative of lung impedance of a patient. Early detection of changes in the status of a patient pertaining to pulmonary edema and/or pulmonary congestion may be especially beneficial for heart failure patients. Quantification is based on differentials, e.g. within a span of 24 hours, of one or more lung impedance parameters.

Epidermal sensor system and process
Epidermal electronics are sensors with mechanical properties matching human epidermis. Their manufacturing process includes photolithography and dry and wet etching within cleanroom facilities. The high cost of manpower, materials, photo masks, and facilities greatly hinders the commercialization potential of disposable epidermal electronics. In contrast, an embodiment of the invention includes a low cost, high throughput, bench top “cut-and-paste” method to complete the freeform manufacture of epidermal sensor system (ESS) in minutes. This versatile method works for many types of thin metal and polymeric sheets and is compatible with many tattoo adhesives or medical tapes. The resultant ESS is highly multimaterial and multifunctional and may measure ECG, EMG, skin temperature, skin hydration, as well as respiratory rate. Also, a stretchable planar coil made of serpentine ribbons can be used as a wireless strain gauge and/or a near field communication (NFC) antenna. Other embodiments are described herein.

AIRWAY THERAPY SYSTEM
The invention provides a positive airway pressure therapy system comprising a positive pressure generation unit, adapted to generate a positive pressure airflow for provision to a subject, and an oscillatory pressure generation unit adapted to modulate the positive pressure airflow at a modulation frequency thereby imparting a frequency component to the positive pressure air flow. The oscillatory pressure generation unit is adapted to modulate the airflow during an exhalation phase of a breathing cycle of the subject.
