Systems and methods for assessing fluids from a patient are disclosed. The system includes a receptacle including an inlet port, an outlet port, and a third port; a valve system in fluidic communication with the receptacle; and one or more features in the receptacle to aid in optical imaging of fluids. The system has a fill mode and a flush mode. In the fill mode, the valve system directs suction from a vacuum source through the third port into the receptacle, thereby drawing fluid through the inlet port into the receptacle. In the flush mode, the valve system directs suction from the vacuum source through the outlet port, thereby drawing fluid through the outlet port out of the receptacle. Fluid-related information such as, for example, concentration of a blood component, may be estimated based on images of fluids in the receptacle.

Systems and methods for identifying a condition of a user. A treatment apparatus is configured to be manipulated by the user for performing an exercise, and an interface is communicably coupled to the treatment apparatus. One or more sensors are configured to sense one or more characteristics of an anatomical structure of the user. A processing device and a memory is communicatively coupled to the processing device. The memory includes computer readable instructions, that when executed by the processing device, cause the processing device to: receive, from the sensors, one or more sensor inputs representative of the one or more of characteristics of the anatomical structures; calculate an infection probability of a disease based on the one or more characteristics of the anatomical structures; and output, to the interface, a representation of the infection probability.

Medical devices and methods thereof for determining bacterial infections in blood. The medical devices and methods thereof can utilize a coating including an antibody conjugated to a reporter protein configured to indicate a bacterial infection in a patient's blood by way of an antigen thereof. Exemplary medical devices include, but are not limited to, a catheter assembly, an AV fistula needle set, an extension set for either a catheter assembly or an AV fistula needle set, and a hemodialysis tubing set. The medical devices and methods thereof can utilize immunochromatographic separation of the antibody and an antigen-antibody complex to indicate a bacterial infection in a patient's blood.

In some examples, a medical device includes an elongated body defining an inner lumen. The medical device further includes an anchoring member and a first sensor at a proximal portion of the elongated body, and a second sensor at a distal portion of the elongated body or distal to a distal end of the elongated body. The second sensor is configured to sense a substance of interest and the elongated body comprises a material that is a substantially non-permeable to the substance of interest.

Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for contact-free heart rate monitoring and/or measurement are provided. One method may include receiving video(s) that include visual frame(s) of individual s) performing exercises, detecting some exposed skin from the video(s), and performing motion compensation to generate color signals for the exposed skin to precisely align frames of the exposed skin. The method may also include generating the color signals by estimating a skin color for each frame by taking a spatial average over pixels of a cheek of the face(s) for R, G, and B channels, respectively, applying an operation to remove remaining motion traces from the frames such that the heart rate traces dominate, and extracting and/or outputting the heart rate of the individuals using a frequency estimator of the skin color signals.
Intelligent prosthetic socket
A system can be used to record real-time pressure and/or shear force data within a socket for a prosthetic device. The system includes a socket for a prosthetic device that can be designed to fit a patient's residual limb. The system also includes a sensor array that can be placed within the socket for the prosthetic device to detect pressure and/or shear force on the patient's residual limb. The sensor array includes a piezo-electric material and a uniform distribution of a plurality of metal pads on either side of the piezo-electric material. Each of the plurality of metal pads on either side of the piezo-electric material comprises at least one wire connected to a common port.

The present invention relates to a device for measuring a bodily fluid drainage amount, the device comprising: a measurement case which is formed of a rigid material and provided with a bodily fluid measurement space therein; a drainage tube which is coupled to an entrance of the measurement case in a releasable structure and transfers bodily fluids discharged from a human body to the bodily fluid measurement space of the measurement case; a plurality of fluid level sensors, which are horizontally disposed on an upper surface of the measurement case and measure and inform fluid levels of the bodily fluids collected in the bodily fluid measurement space; and a control device which receives and analyzes the fluid levels of the bodily fluids, infers a tilt of the measurement case from a difference in the fluid levels of the bodily fluids, and calculates and informs a bodily fluid drainage amount.

In one implementation, a method includes receiving data characterizing a plurality of images associated with palpebral conjunctiva region of one or more patients. The method also includes receiving data indicative of a user selection of a first pixel of a first image of the plurality of images. The method further includes determining, a region of interest associated with the selected first pixel. The determining can include identifying a plurality of pixels adjacent to the first pixel having color parameter values within a predetermined range of a first color parameter value of the first pixel. The method also includes determining a first plurality of parameters associated with the region of interest, and providing the first plurality of parameters.
