Needle member, sensor, and method for manufacturing needle member
A needle member includes: a tubular side wall through which a hollow portion extends in a longitudinal direction. An opening portion connected to the hollow portion extends laterally through the tubular side wall. The tubular side wall comprises a side wall reinforcement portion located at a position opposing the opening portion, wherein the hollow portion is interposed between the opening portion and the side wall reinforcement portion.
Sensors for In-Vivo Measurements
In one embodiment, a sensor includes a capsule having a cavity and a sheath, a transducer coupled to electronic circuitry in the cavity, and a clip outside the capsule. The capsule and the clip are configured to hold in vivo an object within an opening between the capsule and the clip. The transducer is configured to detect an incoming signal indicative of a physiological parameter of the object being held, and the electronic circuitry is configured to wirelessly transmit a signal containing information about the physiological parameter obtained from the incoming signal. The sensor is part of a measurement system to measure the physiological parameter. Another embodiment describes a method using the measurement system.
UNIVERSAL RESPIRATORY DETECTOR
A universal respiratory detector for detecting a respiratory gas. The universal respiratory detector may include a plurality of layers with a visual indicator to quickly and reversibly change color to detect a respiratory gas parameter such as carbon dioxide. The color change may be visible from both sides of the detector. In some examples, the respiratory detector may be a biocompatible and conformable sticker for mounting on a person’s face or an oxygen delivery device.
Device and kit for indicating a pH at a locus
Device comprising polyurethane material for indicating pH at a locus, preferably as indication of presence of microbes, comprising a polyurethane network having immobilised therein one or more hydrophilic copolymers, the or each said copolymer comprising: hydrophilic monomer; and indicator monomer, which provides an indication in response to a change in hydrophilic state of said hydrophilic monomer and/or copolymer; characterised in that the or each copolymer further comprises one or a plurality of ionisable groups or moieties or polymerisable monomers having one or more characteristic pKa values in the range 5 to 10 and which are responsive to pH at the locus in the range pH 5 to pH 10
and in that hydrophilic state of hydrophilic copolymer is dependent on ionisation of said ionisable groups, moieties or monomers; kit and device comprising the material and process for preparation thereof; and use in detecting or sensing microbes or pH.
Ingestible device recovery system
Various embodiments are described herein for a recovery tool kit system including a recovery tool and an associated retrieval method for retrieving and storing an ingestible device.
IMAGE-BASED HEALTH INDEX SCORING SYSTEM FOR GENITOURINARY TRACT
The present invention features a method for automated image-based prediction of physiologic and pathologic conditions of a vaginal wall of a patient using optical coherence tomography. In some embodiments, the method may comprise capturing, by a functional optical coherence tomography imaging probe, one or more images of the vaginal wall. The method may further comprise constructing a computing device a visualization of the vaginal wall, discretizing the visualization of the vaginal wall in to a discrete model, measuring a plurality of objective attributes from the discrete model, generating, based on the plurality of objective attributes, a Vaginal Health Index (VHI), generating an associated risk value based on the VHI and a plurality of patient attributes, reconstructing the visualization of the vaginal wall based on the associated risk value, and mapping the associated risk value to the visualization of the vaginal wall such that one or more at-risk areas are highlighted.
Ph sensing for sensor enabled negative pressure wound monitoring and therapy apparatuses
Embodiments of apparatuses, systems, methods for monitoring wound pH are disclosed. In some embodiments, a wound dressing includes one or more optical sensors configured to measure a change in color of a pH-sensitive adhesive that changes color in response to changes in wound exudate pH. In some embodiments, the wound dressing may further comprise hydrophilic channels that direct wound exudate to a pH-sensitive material over the optical sensors. Such dressings may also be used in combination with a negative pressure wound therapy system.
Positioning of sensors for sensor enabled wound monitoring or therapy
Embodiments of apparatuses and methods for determining an emplacement of sensors in a wound dressing are disclosed. In some embodiments, a wound dressing includes a plurality of sensors configured to measure wound or patient characteristics. One or more processors are configured to receive wound or patient characteristics data as well as emplacement data. The received data can be used to determine an emplacement of the plurality of sensors, the wound dressing, or a wound. The sensors can include a set of nanosensors. The wound dressing can include pH sensitive ink which can be utilized for determining a placement of the wound dressing and determining a pH associated with the wound. The wound dressing can be used in a negative pressure wound therapy system.
