INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF
An information processing apparatus is configured to repeatedly perform, within a predetermined period, a meal managing process of generating meal management data including data indicating an extra calorie within a predetermined period, and an exercise managing process of generating exercise management data including data indicating an amount of deficient exercise within the predetermined period. The extra calorie is calculated based on a total intake calorie of a user for a period from a start point of time of the predetermined period to a point of time when the extra calorie is calculated and total calorie consumption of the user for the period, and the amount of deficient exercise is calculated as an amount of exercise required to consume the extra calorie.
Adhesively coupled power-meter for measurement of force, torque, and power and associated methods
An adhesively coupled power-meter measures one or more of force, torque, power, and velocity of a mechanical arm. The power meter includes a plate with a first surface prepared for adhesively coupling to the mechanical arm. At least one strain gauge is physically coupled with a second surface, opposite the first, of the plate and with an orientation corresponding to an orientation of the adhesively coupled power meter such that mechanical forces are transferred from mechanical arm to the at least one strain gauge when the plate is adhesively coupled to the mechanical arm. The power meter also includes electronics for receiving a signal from the at least one strain gauge and for determining one or more of force, torque, power and velocity from the signal, and a wireless transmitter for transmitting one or more of force, torque, power and velocity to a receiving device.
Treadmill safety warning and notification system
Methods and systems are disclosed to detect whether a treadmill user is in the danger of falling off the treadmill and to accordingly warn the user via, e.g., audio and haptic feedback. In the event the runner falls off the treadmill and becomes hurt or unresponsive, the system can automatically notify emergency contacts, e.g., via phone calls or text messages.
Systems and methods for mobile status determination and delivery
Embodiments are related to systems and methods for data determining information about a subject, and more particularly to systems and methods for utilizing and distributing information related to measurements of a human subject.
MOTION CAPTURE SYSTEM, MOTION CAPTURE PROGRAM AND MOTION CAPTURE METHOD
Display and output are performed in such a manner as to allow complex body motions to be comprehended instantaneously. There are provided: a plurality of body motion sensors 40 which are worn on a wearer's 1 parts subject to cyclic motions and which are capable of measuring three-dimensional displacements and accelerations at the respective parts; a memory 114 which records detection results as body motion data; a cycle extraction unit 170c which extracts a cyclic motion of each of the body motion sensors 40 on the basis of accumulated body motion data; an analysis unit 170d which analyzes the characteristic of a change in angular velocity in the extracted cyclic motion; and displays 100a, 100b that display or output the characteristic analyzed by the analysis unit 170d in association with the rotation angle of the cyclic motion extracted by the cycle extraction unit 170c.
Systems and methods for remotely-enabled identification of a user infection
Systems and methods for identifying a condition of a user. A treatment apparatus is configured to be manipulated by the user for performing an exercise, and an interface is communicably coupled to the treatment apparatus. One or more sensors are configured to sense one or more characteristics of an anatomical structure of the user. A processing device and a memory is communicatively coupled to the processing device. The memory includes computer readable instructions, that when executed by the processing device, cause the processing device to: receive, from the sensors, one or more sensor inputs representative of the one or more of characteristics of the anatomical structures; calculate an infection probability of a disease based on the one or more characteristics of the anatomical structures; and output, to the interface, a representation of the infection probability.
CRANK APPARATUS, BICYCLE AND STATIONARY EXERCISE BICYCLE
A crank apparatus includes a crank arm having at least one cavity on one of the surfaces of the crank arm, at least one thin material layer embedded within the at least one cavity and having an exposed outer surface, and at least one sensing element attached to the outer surface of the thin material layer. The crank arm is manufactured of a material with non-uniform strain characteristics, the thin material layer is manufactured of a material with uniform strain characteristics, the crank arm is adapted to be deformed by a force, the thin material layer is adapted to be deformed correspondingly with the deformation of the crank arm, the at least one sensing element is adapted to measure the corresponding strain of the thin material layer to measure the force applied on the crank arm. A bicycle and a stationary exercise bicycle equipped with the crank apparatus are further provided.
WEARABLE BIOSIGNAL INTERFACE AND METHOD THEREOF
A wearable biosignal interface, an apparatus for operating an external device, and an operation method of a wearable biosignal interface are provided. A wearable biosignal interface may include a motion sensor configured to obtain a first signal based on a motion of a target, a biosignal sensor disposed on the target and configured to obtain a second signal from the target, and a determination controller configured to determine a validity of the second signal based on the first signal.
Training system and method
The present disclosure provides a training method for operating a training system including a pedal-crank input unit drivingly connected in freewheeling relationship to a flywheel machine with inertial load of at least (0.5) kg.Math.m.sup.2, an ergometer to determine power, a processor, a profile module, and a session management module, wherein the processor determines a minimum acceptable threshold value of maximum power output for a maximum power period, duration of the maximum power period, and increments the minimum acceptable threshold value of maximum power output for a next maximum power period where the minimum acceptable threshold value of maximum power output for a maximum power period is met.
