Surface protection articles and methods
Painting in commercial, residential, and retail environments requires extreme care to avoid paint being deposited where it is not required. Drop cloths are commonly used to protect a floor or furniture during the painting process. However, these are generally simply plastic sheets to provide a barrier to the liquid paint and nothing more. Accordingly, it would be advantageous to provide a drop sheet or tarp that supports a liquid material drying process such as by dehydration, coagulate, etc. or form solid materials thereby reducing the instances of subsequent paint transfer from the drop sheet or tarp directly or indirectly to other surfaces and/or objects. It would also be advantageous to drop sheet or tarp that provides a non-slip surface which prevents the drop sheet from sliding around and remains well in place without additional weights, tape, etc.
MACHINABLE WAX WITH PLASTIC ADDITIVE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A machinable wax with plastic additive and method of manufacture is shown and described. The machinable wax with a plastic additive includes between twenty-five (25) percent and thirty-five (35) percent of the polyethylene (PE) Wax by volume. The machinable wax includes between thirty-five (35) percent and forty-five (45) percent of LD polyethylene by volume. The machinable wax also includes between ten (10) percent and twenty (20) percent of micro crystalline wax by volume and between seven (7) percent and twelve (12) percent of paraffin wax by volume. In some embodiments the machinable wax includes between three (3) percent and six (6) percent of acetic acid ethenyl ester by volume. In some instances, the machinable wax has less than or equal to one (1) percent of colorant by volume added.
Ion-exchange membrane
A polymerizable composition for forming an ion-exchange resin precursor, the polymerizable composition containing a monomer component and polyethylene particles in an amount of 50 to 120 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the monomer component, wherein the monomer component contains an aromatic monomer for introducing ion-exchange groups and a nitrogen-containing aliphatic monomer, the nitrogen-containing aliphatic monomer being present in an amount of 10 to 35% by mass in said monomer component. An ion-exchange membrane is produced by applying the polymerizable composition onto a polyolefin type filament base material and polymerizing the polymerizable composition to form an ion-exchange resin precursor and, thereafter, introducing ion-exchange groups into the precursor.
SHRINK FILMS INCORPORATING POST-CONSUMER RESIN AND METHODS THEREOF
A shrink film may include at least one layer comprising a blended ethylene-based polymer composition, the blended ethylene-based having a PCR content varying from greater than 5 to less than 95 wt % and a virgin resin content varying from greater than 5 to less than 95 wt %, wherein the virgin resin is selected from HOPE, LLDPE, LDPE, or combinations thereof.
WOOD POLYMER COMPOSITES AND ADDITIVE SYSTEMS THEREFOR
A wood polymer composite additive includes at least one maleic anhydride grafted polymer coupling agent, a second coupling agent that is at least one of a silane and siloxane, at least one peroxide crosslinking agent; and an amine compound. A wood polymer composite includes the additive, a thermoplastic polymer and cellulosic material. A wood polymer composite article is formed by extruding the composite material.
CROSSLINKED POLYOLEFIN RESIN FOAM, ADHESIVE TAPE, LAYERED BODY, MOLDING, AND DISPLAY MEMBER
A cross-linked polyolefin resin foam of the present invention has a total light transmittance and a thickness that satisfy a predetermined condition, and has a reflection color difference Δ* of −10 to 16, a reflection color difference Δa* of −3 to 3, and a reflection color difference ΔL* of 50 or more. According to the present invention, there can be provided a cross-linked polyolefin resin foam that can suppress a change in color tone of transmitted light while ensuring transparency, and a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, layered product, formed product, and display member that include such a cross-linked polyolefin resin foam.
RESIN COMPOSITION, RESIN COMPOSITION MOLDED BODY, AND POWER CABLE
A resin composition contains propylene, ethylene, and styrene, and has a melting point of 140° C. or more and 150° C. or less, and the enthalpy of fusion of the resin composition is 55 J/g or more and 90 J/g or less.
Low Noise Polymer Composition
A tribologically modified polyoxymethylene polymer composition is disclosed. The polyoxymethylene polymer composition is comprised of a polyoxymethylene polymer, reinforcing fibers, and at least one tribological modifier. The tribological modifier, in one embodiment, can comprise a graft copolymer. The use of a graft copolymer has been found to unexpectedly and dramatically improve noise generation when tested against various substrates, especially glass substrates.
PROCESS FOR RECYCLING LAMINATED POLYMER PACKAGING USING ETHYLENE GLYCOL
“PROCESS FOR RECYCLING LAMINATED POLYMER PACKAGING USING ETHYLENE GLYCOL” applied in polymeric packaging containing one or more materials from a group formed by PP, PE, PET and aluminum; said process being comprising performing the selective dissolution of PET, reusing it as a product of its reaction with glycol, as well as separating aluminum in its metallic form and PP and PE as a supernatant portion in said product.
