This core includes a polyester comprising a polyester or copolyester derived from a reaction of a difunctional carboxylic acid and a difunctional hydroxyl compound; a polyolefin, at least one functionalized polymer comprising a compatibilizer, thermoplastic elastomer, impact modifier or coupling agent; and a filler.

ADDITIVES FOR FLAME RETARDED POLYOLEFINS

This invention provides a flame retardant additive composition which comprises at least one glow suppressant and at least one brominated flame retardant. The glow suppressant is about 0.5 wt % or more of the flame retardant additive composition, based on the total weight of the flame retardant additive composition. The brominated flame retardant contains aromatically-bound bromine and is selected from a) a brominated anionic styrenic polymer having a number average molecular weight of about 750 to about 7500, and/or a bromine content of about 60 wt % to about 77 wt %, b) a brominated anionic chain transfer vinyl aromatic polymer which contains about 70 wt % or more bromine, or a mixture of any two or more of these. Also provided are flame retarded polyolefin compositions that contain at least one glow suppressant and a brominated flame retardant.

An expanded bead having a through hole and including a foamed core layer which defines the through hole therein and which is constituted of a resin composition containing two kinds of polypropylene-based resins having different melting points, and a cover layer covering the foamed core layer and constituted of a polyolefin-based resin. The expanded bead gives a DSC curve in which an endothermic peak intrinsic to the resin composition and another endothermic peak on a higher temperature side thereof appear in a specific heat of fusion ratio. Molded articles include a multiplicity of the expanded beads.
