A method for fabricating electrodes sized and dimensioned to record, measure, and/or stimulate very fine nerve structures (e.g., microscale or less) is described herein. The method can include securing a tip of an electrode, comprising a conductor substantially encased by an insulator, to a proximal portion of an inserter. The electrode can be wound around a proximal portion of the inserter and a portion of the electrode can be secured to a distal portion of the inserter. A tension in the electrode can be maintained during the winding to keep the electrode in place during the winding.

The disclosed systems and methods include displaying disease trigger icons within a disease trigger map in a GUI, where the disease trigger map corresponds to a particular disease symptom, and where the position and size of a particular trigger icon within the trigger map based one or more of (i) the degree or strength of a statistical association between the trigger icon's corresponding disease trigger and the disease symptom, and (ii) a cumulative frequency and/or amount of exposure to the trigger icon's corresponding disease trigger. Some embodiments also include displaying a patient population disease trigger map one or more relationships between (i) one or more disease triggers and (ii) one or more patients of the patient population. Some embodiments may further include facilitating communication and/or disease trigger information sharing among patients.

A method is provided of systematically evaluating and treating dynamic autonomic dysregulation in a subject. The method includes having the subject sequentially assume a plurality of distinct postures that may include, for example, walking, standing, sitting or supine. In each posture of the subject, the subject is subjected to sensory stimulation while measuring at least one autonomic physiological response of the subject. The autonomic physiological response may include, for example, oxygen saturation, heart rate, pupillary response, blood pressure, sweat production, pseudomotor activity or respiration. The physiological responses in each of the distinct postures are evaluated to identify a posture wherein the subject exhibits a least amount of dysfunction.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING WETNESS PERCEPTION
20210228081 · 2021-07-29 ·

Processes, scales, and devices to measure and quantify wetness perception in humans. Exemplary devices and scales utilize sensor fusion of temperature and pressure modalities, for which humans have dedicated receptors in the skin, to understand how the perception of wetness comes about. Processes test the utility of wetness perception as a biomarker for assaying peripheral neuropathy. Wetness perception devices include a Peltier module. The temperature of the Peltier module can be varied precisely using a computer-aided feedback system, mounted on a load scale to enable concomitant pressure measurements. Devices may include an insulation chamber with desiccators in place to lower internal humidity and prevent condensation. Wetness perception can be used as a non-invasive biomarker for disease-related peripheral neuropathy in which sensory mechanisms are disrupted.
