DEEP LEARNING SYSTEM FOR DETECTING ACUTE INTRACRANIAL HEMORRHAGE IN NON-CONTRAST HEAD CT IMAGES
A method, computer program, and computer system is provided for receiving data corresponding to a tomograph scan associated with a patient, extracting slices from the received tomograph scan data, and determining adjacent slices for each of the extracted slices. The extracted slices and the adjacent slices may be grouped into slabs, and features associated with the slabs may be identified. It may be determined that a slab corresponding to the identified features contains a feature associated with ICH.
Methods and Apparatus for Adjusting Neurostimulation Intensity Using Evoked Responses
A neurostimulation system provides for capture verification and stimulation intensity adjustment to ensure effectiveness of vagus nerve stimulation in modulating one or more target functions in a patient. In various embodiments, stimulation is applied to the vagus nerve, and evoked responses are detected to verify that the stimulation captures the vagus nerve and to adjust one or more stimulation parameters that control the stimulation intensity.
Methods and kits for diagnosing, assessing or quantitating drug use, drug abuse and narcosis, internuclear ophthalmoplegia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), chronic traumatic encephalopathy, schizophrenia spectrum disorders and alcohol consumption
The invention provides methods for diagnosing, assessing or quantitating drug use, drug abuse or narcosis or for differentiating drug use, drug abuse or narcosis from brain injury in a subject by tracking eye movement of at least one eye of the subject, analyzing eye movement of at least one eye of the subject, comparing eye movement of at least one eye of the subject the normal or mean eye movement; and, optionally calculating a standard deviation or p value for eye movement of at least one eye of the subject as compared to the normal or mean eye movement.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR COLLECTING BIOLOGICAL DATA
A system for obtaining biological data from a subject animal, the system comprising at least one neural transducer embedded internally within the subject animal and arranged for interaction with nerves of the subject animal, at least one sensor arranged for sensing data of a parameter of the subject animal, and an external module mounted externally on the subject animal and connected by a wired connection to at least one of the at least one neural transducer or the at least one sensor. The wired connection comprises a sealed and ported through skin interface device.
Chronic disease discovery and management system
The disclosed systems and methods include displaying disease trigger icons within a disease trigger map in a GUI, where the disease trigger map corresponds to a particular disease symptom, and where the position and size of a particular trigger icon within the trigger map based one or more of (i) the degree or strength of a statistical association between the trigger icon's corresponding disease trigger and the disease symptom, and (ii) a cumulative frequency and/or amount of exposure to the trigger icon's corresponding disease trigger. Some embodiments also include displaying a patient population disease trigger map one or more relationships between (i) one or more disease triggers and (ii) one or more patients of the patient population. Some embodiments may further include facilitating communication and/or disease trigger information sharing among patients.
BIOMETRIC MEASUREMENT APPARATUS AND BIOMETRIC MEASUREMENT METHOD
A biometric measurement apparatus includes a light source that emits light onto a head portion of a user, an image sensor, a controller that controls the light source and the image sensor, and a signal processor. The controller causes the light source to emit the light and causes the image sensor to output an image signal by causing the image sensor to detect at least part of reflected light returning from the head portion in response to emission of the light. The signal processor generates brain activity data indicating a state of a brain of the user and stops outputting the brain activity data based on at least one selected from the group consisting of the image signal and a sensor signal output from a sensor that detects a change, affecting the brain activity data, in an environment surrounding the user.
Controller-based apparatus and method for diagnosis and treatment of acquired brain injury and dysfunction
A controller-based apparatus for diagnosis and treatment of a subject with acquired brain injury and dysfunction. Various embodiments of the invention described herein recognize that different body postures affect the autonomic nervous system differently, and therefore various external stimuli may have different therapeutic efficacies when a patient or subject is in each body posture. Postures, such as walking, sitting, standing, prone and supine, have different effects on the autonomic nervous system, and therefore some stimuli have different physiological efficacies while a patient or subject is in a given body posture. Disclosed embodiments of the present invention leverage this relationship to provide a controller-based apparatus that determines a combination of posture and stimulus that has optimal therapeutic effect, while minimizing health practitioner involvement. The controller based apparatus provides a treatment that stimulates the nervous system through a combination of noninvasive therapies that stimulate brain cells to increase their efficiencythis promotes the formation of pathways that help transfer information throughout the brain in such a way that in the end, the affected area of the brain and overall brain function are improved without medication or surgery.
METHOD FOR CLASSIFYING ANAESTHETIC DEPTH IN OPERATIONSWITHTOTAL INTRAVENOUS ANAESTHESIA
The process for classifying anesthetic depth includes: collecting of biological signals, conditioning of said signals, monitoring of activity of the central and autonomic systems, measurement of indexes and classification of patterns in anesthetic depth. The activity includes: i) Awake: VigilAk. and recovery of verbal responseRc. ii) Light Anesthesia: Light induction anesthesiaLi. Light recoveryLr, Light dose, increase in drugs or patient movement (La), iii) General anesthesia: General anesthesiaGa, one minute after the start of the surgery, and iv) Deep anesthesia: identification of the EEG burst-suppression pattern (BSP) associated with deep anesthesia.
Method for diagnosis of and therapy for a subject having a central nervous system disorder
A method is provided of systematically evaluating and treating dynamic autonomic dysregulation in a subject. The method includes having the subject sequentially assume a plurality of distinct postures that may include, for example, walking, standing, sitting or supine. In each posture of the subject, the subject is subjected to sensory stimulation while measuring at least one autonomic physiological response of the subject. The autonomic physiological response may include, for example, oxygen saturation, heart rate, pupillary response, blood pressure, sweat production, pseudomotor activity or respiration. The physiological responses in each of the distinct postures are evaluated to identify a posture wherein the subject exhibits a least amount of dysfunction.
