Therapy program selection for electrical stimulation therapy based on a volume of tissue activation
In some examples, a processor of a system evaluates a therapy program based on a score determined based on a volume of tissue expected to be activated (“VTA”) by therapy delivery according to the therapy program. The score may be determined using an efficacy map comprising a plurality of voxels that are each assigned a value. In some examples, the efficacy map is selected from a plurality of stored efficacy maps based on a patient condition, one or more patient symptoms, or both the patient condition and one or more patient symptoms. In addition, in some examples, voxels of the efficacy map are assigned respective values that are associated with a clinical rating scale.
DETECTION OF CONCUSSION USING CRANIAL ACCELEROMETRY
A system and method for detecting brain concussion includes detecting and measuring of acceleration at one or more points on a subject's head. Sensors, which can be accelerometers placed against the head, detect and measure natural motions of the patient's head due to blood flow in the brain and resultant movement of tissue in the brain. The acceleration data are then analyzed, including as to frequency of motions of the skull at the subject location in a frequency range of about 1 to 20 Hz. An observation is then made, as compared with data corresponding to non-concussion, of a change in frequency response pattern exhibited when accelerations are plotted as a function of time or frequency, to identify probable concussion if the frequency response pattern indicates concussion. Preferably the observation and comparison are made by a computer using an algorithm.
SYSTEM FOR THE AUTOMATIC EVALUATION OF COGNITION AND CONSCIOUSNESS OF AN INDIVIDUAL THROUGH EXTERNAL STIMULATIONS
A system for automatic evaluation of cognition and consciousness of a subject, the system including a micro-controller, a digital-to-analog converter and at least one sensory stimulation element, wherein the system is configured to receive as input an information concerning a stimulation paradigm and to generate as output a sensory stimulation according to the stimulation paradigm and transmit at least one synchronization signal determined by the stimulation paradigm to a device for the acquisition of a physiological signal so as to synchronize the system for stimulation with the device for the acquisition of a physiological signal during an acquisition.
Methods and Systems for Displaying Eye Images to Subjects and for Interacting with Virtual Objects
A processing subsystem generates perceived images from information bearing nerve impulses that are transmitted from a subject's eye(s) to a visual processing region of the subject's brain along one or more nerves in response to the subject viewing a real-world scene. The processing subsystem generates display images based on the perceived images, and controls a display device to display the display images to the subject. In certain embodiments, the processing subsystem generates the display images by manipulating or modifying the perceived images to include virtual images, and provides a type of virtual pointing on the display images that is used to invoke one or more actions.
Systems and methods for detecting neurological conditions
Systems, apparatuses, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media related to a tool for determining presence or absence of a neurological condition in a subject are provided. The tool includes an ultrasound device configured to collect ultrasound data from a head of the subject. The tool further includes a processing circuit configured to calculate a curvature metric based on the ultrasound data. The processing circuit is further configured to calculate a velocity asymmetry metric based on the ultrasound data. The tool is further configured to determine presence or absence of the neurological condition in the subject based on the curvature metric and the velocity asymmetry metric.
Graphical adjustment recommendations for vocalization
Audio of a user speaking is gathered while spatial data of the face of the user is gathered. Positions of elements of the face of are identified, wherein relative positions of the elements cause a plurality of qualities of the user voice. A subset of positions of the elements are identified to have caused a detected first quality of the user voice during the period of time. Alternate positions of the one or more elements are identified that are determined to cause the user voice to have a second quality rather than the first quality. A graphical representation of the face that depicts one or more adjustments from the subset of the positions to the alternate positions is provided to the user.
SYSTEM AND PROCESS FOR COMPUTERIZED SCREENING AND MONITORING FOR COGNITIVE CHARACTERISTICS
A method and device includes generating and displaying a first set of objects and a second set of objects; displaying a first object belonging to either the first set of objects or the second set of objects; receiving a first response of whether the first object belongs to the first set of objects or the second set of objects; determining whether the first response correctly identifies a set of objects to which the first object belongs; displaying a second object from either the first set of objects or the second set of objects; receiving a second response of whether the first object belongs to the first set of objects or the second set of objects; determining whether the second response correctly identifies the set of objects to which the second object belongs; and applying an algorithm to determine a probability of a cognitive characteristic.
System and method for neuropathy diagnosis with wireless feedback mechanism
The various embodiments herein disclose a method and a system with a portable handheld diagnostic device for detecting and/or monitoring the prognosis of nerve impairment or diabetic peripheral neuropathy. The system provides a multi-parameter diabetic neuropathy-screening device to perform a combination of tactile threshold test, vibration threshold test, thermal threshold test and contactless skin-temperature measurement. The present invention provides a smartphone application that helps a user to operate/control the device, store and share the results. The smartphone application interacts with the hardware modules in the device and guides the user to perform the various tests. Further, the neuropathy diagnostic system provides a wireless feedback button that enables the subject to respond to various sensations during the course of the test.

A portable biomedical device for detecting ischemic stroke in the brain. Its unique capability of enabling portability and compactness and being able to accommodate software that can resolve blood flow velocity measurements enable us to leverage multi-modality system benefits while using simple single modality instrumentation. This unique device provides an ideal diagnostic and predictive tool for ischemic attack such as TIA; not only at hospital bedside but also in a home environment.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF NEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS
Systems and methods for data compression which facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. The methods comprise performing the following operations by a computing device: generating Normalized Data (“ND”) from Original Data (“OD”) that defines a Normalized Waveform (“NW”) that is unitless and scaled from zero to one; processing ND to extract Micro-Movement Data (“MMD”) defining a Micro-Movement Waveform (“MMW”) comprising a plurality of MMD points; and generating compressed data comprising a stochastic signature of MMW. Each MMD point determined based on a value of a peak of NW and a value representing an average of all data point values between a first valley of NW immediately preceding the peak and a second valley of NW immediately following the peak. The stochastic signature is defined by empirically estimated values of at least one parameter representing a Probability Distribution Function (“PDF”) of a continuous family of PDFs.
