SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR POSITIONAL REGISTRATION OF MEDICAL IMAGE DATA
A system and method of correlating or coregistering medical images is disclosed herein that includes acquiring a sur-face image of the patient's skin surface using a surface detector assembly comprising a surface frame and a camera system registered to the surface frame. Positional coordinates of one or more surface landmarks in the surface image are determined and a medical image of the patient is acquired having the surface frame depicted therein. A second surface image of the patient's skin surface is ac-quired that at least partially overlaps the previously acquired surface image. Positional coordinates of one or more surface landmarks in the second surface image are determined and compared with surface landmarks in the previous surface image. Common surface landmarks are determined based on the comparison and the medical images are coregistered based on positional coordinates of the common surface landmarks.

The present disclosure generally relates to approaches for improving water absorption and retention by the skin's surface. In particular, the disclosure provides compositions and methods for preparing mixtures comprised of ethoxylated oils and water or mixtures comprised of micro or nano emulsions and water, which provide enhanced skin hydration or moisturization to a subject.

Apparatus, methods, and systems for detecting biomarkers are disclosed. A sensing apparatus for detecting the presence of at least one biomarker in subcutaneous tissue is disclosed, the sensing apparatus including a probe comprising a shaft, and a biomarker detection material coated on at least a portion of the shaft of the probe. The sensing apparatus further includes a sensor communicatively coupled to the biomarker detection material, the sensor configured to detect a change in at least one of an electrical property and an optical property of the biomarker detection material. When a change in the at least one of an electrical property and optical property of the biomarker detection material is detected, the change is indicative of the presence of at least one biomarker.

An activity monitoring device and associated methods for using and interfacing with the activity monitoring device are provided. In one example, the activity monitoring device includes a housing configured for attachment to a body part of a user. Also included ins a display screen attached to the housing and a sensor for capturing physiological conditions of the user. The sensor is disposed along a surface of the housing so that the sensor is proximate to the body part, the body part having at least some exposed skin. The activity monitoring device also includes memory for storing the captured physiological conditions, and a processor for examining the captured physiological conditions. At a particular time, the processor automatically selects an application to execute from a plurality of applications based on characteristics of the captured physiological conditions.

A method of implementing a mobile hyperspectral camera system is also described.
