Ultraviolet Imaging Systems and Methods
Ultraviolet systems and methods are described for capturing images depicting absorption or remittance of ultraviolet radiation (UVR). An example system includes a camera comprising a monochrome camera sensor that is configured to capture images, a radiation source that is configured to output a UVR waveband, a filter component that is configured to differentiate at least one of a UVA waveband and a UVB waveband of the UVR waveband, and a polarizer component that is configured to cross polarize each of the UVA waveband and the UVB waveband. Further, the camera is configured to capture an image depicting an UVA amount of UVA absorption or remittance as projected on a surface area and an UVB amount of UVB absorption or remittance as projected on the surface area.
Device, method and system for implementing a physical area network for detecting effects of the sun
Nano-node sunscreen described herein enables significantly improved health monitoring and treatment of sun-related issues by utilizing internal (in-body) mechanisms and information and external mechanisms and information.
Imaging Photoplethysmography (IPPG) System and Method for Remote Measurements of Vital Signs
An imaging photoplethysmography (iPPG) system is provided. The iPPG system receives a sequence of images of different regions of the skin of the person, where each region including pixels of different intensities indicative of variation of coloration of the skin. The iPPG system further transforms the sequence of images into a multidimensional time-series signal, each dimension corresponding to a different region from the different regions of the skin. The iPPG system further processes the multidimensional time-series signal with a time-series U-Net neural network wherein the pass-through layers include a recurrent neural network (RNN) to generate a PPG waveform, where the vital sign of the person is estimated based on the PPG waveform, and the iPPG system further renders the estimated vital sign of the person.
Regulatory device and associated method
A peripheral device for regulating neural correlates of arousal and emotion regulation to be worn or held against the body is disclosed. The device can be triggered by either physiological signs or manual intervention and produces cutaneous signals such as vibration or electricity using novel combinations of physiologically reactive frequencies without effort on the part of the user. One embodiment includes combining sensors that measure changes in physiological signals of stress such as speech rate and pitch, galvanic skin response, or heart rate variability, and, using a machine learning algorithm on personalized data, can determine whether these changes are likely to benefit from regulation. If they are outside an idiosyncratic predetermined range, the device produces stimulation and the person will feel regulated if they are touching/wearing the device, or can choose to use the device if it is not currently being touched or worn.
Automatic measurement using structured lights
Techniques for automatic measurement using structured lights are provided. A computer system uses structured lights to acquire skin information, the skin information being associated with at least one affected area of the skin. The computer system determines parameters related to the at least one affected area of the skin, at least partly, on the skin information and generates an assessment for the at least one affected area of the skin.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPTICAL DETECTION OF SKIN DISEASE
An optical system for the detection of skin disease, such as melanoma, acquires images of a lesion on a subject's skin at different wavelengths and utilizes a sweeping arm rotating about the lesion in a clock-like sweep to produce diagnostically relevant metrics and classifiers from the image data so as to enhance detection of the skin disease.
PORTABLE HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGING DEVICE
Disclosed is a portable hyperspectral/multiple spectral imaging device. The imaging device has a chassis having a base face and an axis orthogonal to the base face. The chassis includes an inner perimeter wall extended substantially around the axis and enclosing an interior region of the chassis. The chassis also includes one or more outer walls extended at acute angles with respect to the base face and arranged around the inner perimeter wall. One or more light sources are disposed on the outer walls. The imaging device further comprises a lens, an optical filter, and an optical detector disposed within the interior region. The imaging device further comprises a control system and a low-voltage power source.
Calorie estimation apparatus and method, and wearable device
A calorie estimation apparatus and method that analyze a user's skin spectrum to determine calories of food and drink that the user has ingested are provided. The calorie estimation apparatus includes a spectrum measurer configured to measure a skin spectrum of a user; and a processor configured to determine a noise of the measured skin spectrum, and estimate calories consumed by the user based on the determined noise.
SOLVATOCHROMIC INDICATOR FOR DETECTING INFECTION
A solvatochromic indicator for detecting the presence of a bacterial infection is disclosed. An indicator consisting of Beta vulgaris and further optionally comprising Curcuma longa, isopropyl alcohol, and any combination thereof, undergoes a detectable color change in the presence of an infection. Further provided are filaments treated with the solvatochromic indicator wherein the detectable color change of the indicator is based on the pH of the tissues with a bacterial infection.
A SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING GUIDANCE
There is provided a computer-implemented for controlling a system, the method comprising: acquiring conditions under which data required for analyzing a first biological parameter is to be captured; determining, based on the conditions, requirements associated with an orientation of a body part, a position of a body part, a movement of a body part, and/or a level of a second biological parameter; acquiring, based on the requirements, a current orientation of the body part, a current position of the body part, a current movement of a body part of the subject, and/or a current level of the second biological parameter; determining a required adjustment of an orientation of the body part, a position of the body part, and/or a second biological parameter, based on the respective requirement and the information associated with the respective requirement; generating guidance for the subject based on the determined required adjustment.
