In an embodiment, the present disclosure provides a composition composed of (A) a continuous phase composed of an olefin-based polymer, and (B) particles of a voiding agent dispersed in the continuous phase, the voiding agent composed of a functionalized styrene polymer having a glass transition temperature greater than or equal to 90° C. In another embodiment, the present disclosure provides an oriented article having (A) a continuous phase composed of an olefin-based polymer, and (B) particles of a voiding agent dispersed in the continuous phase. The voiding agent is composed of a functionalized styrene polymer having a glass transition temperature greater than or equal to 90° C. The oriented article includes (C) a plurality of elongated voids dispersed throughout the continuous phase. The oriented article has a density less than 0.9 g/cc.

A method for producing hollow resin particles, the method comprising a mixture liquid preparation step, a suspension preparation step, a polymerization step, and a solvent removal step; wherein a content of a saturated hydrocarbon solvent is 50% by mass or more with respect to 100% by mass of a total amount of a hydrocarbon solvent; wherein a polymerization initiator is an oil-soluble polymerization initiator; and wherein, in the mixture liquid, a cross linkable monomer contains a tri- or higher functional crosslinkable monomer, and with respect to 100 parts by mass of a total amount of the polymerizable monomer, a total content of the crosslinkable monomer is 80 to 98 parts by mass, a content of the tri- or higher functional crosslinkable monomer is from 10 parts by mass to 98 parts by mass, and a content of the hydrocarbon solvent is from 300 parts by mass to 1500 parts by mass.

Resin composition and article made therefrom
The present disclosure provides a resin composition which comprises: 90 parts by weight of vinyl-containing polyphenylene oxide resin; 35 to 70 parts by weight of chemically synthetic silica; and 10 to 30 parts by weight of spherical inorganic fillers, wherein the spherical inorganic fillers include spherical boron nitride, spherical hollow boron silicate or a combination thereof. The present disclosure also provides an article made from the resin composition, wherein the article includes a prepreg, a resin film, a laminate or a printed circuit board. The resin composition of the invention can make the article made therefrom achieve better peeling strength, dielectric constant, dissipation factor, no weave exposure produced and no stripes of branch-like pattern produced at the laminate edge.
FABRICATION OF AQUAPORIN-BASED BIOMIMETIC MEMBRANE
Methods of fabricating a membrane comprising proteoliposomes having protein water channels are provided herein. The method may include providing a porous substrate, depositing a solution containing proteoliposomes on the porous substrate, and then contacting the porous substrate with an aqueous monomer solution and an organic monomer solution to form a selective layer on the porous substrate embedding the proteoliposomes. The method may include depositing the aqueous monomer solution, then the solution containing the proteoliposomes, then the organic monomer solution, to form the selective layer. The present disclosure also describes the membrane and a system operable to accommodate both methods.
LOW DENSITY POLYVINYL CHLORIDE MICROPARTICLES
Hollow microparticles of polyvinyl chloride are disclosed, having low volumetric densities useful for reducing mass per unit volume of polymer or inorganic articles and apparatus having such microparticles compounded into thermoplastic or thermoset polymers. A double emulsion polymerization process is also disclosed as the process to produce the hollow microparticles.
