A method of preparing a block copolymer composition is provided. The method includes: adding an aromatic vinyl monomer and a compound represented by Chemical Formula 1 to a hydrocarbon-based solvent and performing stirring to prepare a first mixed solution; adding a polymerization initiator to the first mixed solution and performing polymerization to prepare a second mixed solution; adding a conjugated diene-based monomer to the second mixed solution and performing polymerization to prepare a third mixed solution; and adding a coupling agent to the third mixed solution to perform a coupling reaction, An asphalt composition including the block copolymer composition prepared therefrom, is also provided.

ASPHALT COMPOSITION

The present invention provides an asphalt composition obtained by blending an asphalt and an addition polymerization-type polymer, the addition polymerization-type polymer having a hydroxyl value of 10 mgKOH/g or more and 60 mgKOH/g or less and having a weight average molecular weight (M.sub.w) of 2,500 or more and 70,000 or less.

ISOCYANATE-MODIFIED ASPHALT COMPOSITIONS

Asphalt emulsions comprising asphalt present in an amount of 50% by weight or greater, based on the weight of the asphalt emulsion, an isocyanate present in an amount of 0.05% by weight or greater, based on the weight of the asphalt emulsion, and water. The isocyanate is derived from an aromatic, a cycloaliphatic, or an aliphatic isocyanate, or a mixture thereof. Preferably, the isocyanate includes methylene diphenyl diisocyanate. The present invention further relates to methods of producing an asphalt product and methods of applying an asphalt product to a surface.

Ground tire rubber density modification using elastomeric polymers

The present invention relates to an asphalt product that comprises an asphalt component and a plurality of pellets comprising a mixture of a ground tire rubber and an elastomeric polymer, where the density difference between the asphalt component and the plurality of pellets is less than 10%. The present invention further relates to a pellet comprising a ground tire rubber (“GTR”) and an elastomeric polymer mixed with the GTR, where the GTR has a density of less than 1.12 g/cm.sup.3. Also disclosed are methods of producing improved asphalt and paving a surface.
