Patient Selectable Joint Arthroplasty Devices and Surgical Tools
Disclosed herein are methods, compositions and tools for repairing articular surfaces repair materials and for repairing an articular surface. The articular surface repairs are customizable or highly selectable by patient and geared toward providing optimal fit and function. The surgical tools are designed to be customizable or highly selectable by patient to increase the speed, accuracy and simplicity of performing total or partial arthroplasty.
Medical Cross-Sectional Image Displaying Apparatus and Method for Displaying Cross-Sectional Image
The present invention provides an apparatus for displaying a two-dimensional cross-sectional image of an arbitrary base plane which matches to the subject's head without creating extra labor to the operator even when the subject's head is asymmetrical. The apparatus is connected to a display unit for displaying a cross-sectional image of a head. The apparatus comprising: a conversion parameter obtaining unit for obtaining a conversion parameter indicating a difference in shape between a standard head and a subject's head based on a volume data; a subject base plane generating unit for generating an anatomical base plane of the subject's head based on the conversion parameter and an anatomical base plane of the standard head; and a cross-sectional reconstruction unit for generating a cross-sectional image of the anatomical base plane of the subject's head based on the volume data of the subject's head and displaying said cross-sectional image on the display unit.
Kinematic analysis based on MRI bone marrow signals
A method of a measuring kinematic parameter in a subject is provided. The method includes obtaining a first magnetic resonance (MR) image set of a bone marrow segment of the subject in a first position and obtaining a second MR image set of the bone marrow segment of the subject in a second position where the second position different from the first position. The method further includes registering the first image set with the second image set and measuring a kinematic parameter.
Device and system for determining a bone strength indicator
Disclosed is a way to provide a medical image processing device that may include a hardware processor that calculates at least one of trabecular connectivity, trabecular width, trabecular number, mineralization degree, osteoid volume, cortical width, and cortical porosity as a bone characteristic indicator of a subject from reconstructed image data generated from moiré image data acquired by photographing the subject.
System And Technique For Accessing Extra Articular Lesions Or Abnormalities Or Intra Osseous Lesions Or Bone Marrow Lesions
A technique for accessing extra articular lesions or abnormalities or intra osseous lesions or abnormalities or bone marrow lesions or all has the step of utilizing an intra articular localizing pinning member to determine a location of the lesion or abnormality wherein the utilization of the localizing pinning member includes the step of inserting the localizing pinning member through cartilage or subchondral bone into the lesion or abnormality to locate or stabilize or both creating a first entry access. The localizing pinning member enters the bony lesion or abnormality penetrating at least into or through the lesion or abnormality to set the localizing pinning member to the desired depth.
System and method for image-guided navigation
Image data can be obtained with an imaging device. A location of the imaging device relative to a subject can be determined. A location of an instrument can be tracked relative to the subject using two or more tracking systems operating with different tracking modalities. Also, the tracked location of the instrument can be illustrated relative to the image data.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR OSSIFICATION CENTER DETECTION AND BONE AGE ASSESSMENT
Systems and methods for ossification center detection (OCD) and bone age assessment (BAA) may be provided. The method may include obtaining a bone age image of a subject. The method may include generating a normalized bone age image by preprocessing the bone age image. The method may include determining, based on the normalized bone age image, positions of a plurality of ossification centers using an ossification center localization (OCL) model. The method may include estimating, based on the normalized bone age image and information related to the positions of the plurality of ossification centers, a bone age of the subject using a bone age assessment (BAA) model.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTINUOUS MONITORING OF A MEDICAL CONDITION IN PATIENTS
The present invention describes methods and systems to enable a concerned party to continuously monitor the progression of a medical condition in one or more patients. The progression of the medical condition is determined by processing sensor data obtained from one or more physiological and/or motion sensors and survey data obtained from the patients. Further, environmental data such as air quality, temperature and humidity may also be used along with the sensor data and the survey data to monitor/track the progression of the medical condition.
Diagnostic imaging method
A method of identifying injury to soft connective tissues in complicated body joints deploys use of motion x-ray images as the joint moves to identify suspected abnormal pathology followed by Dynamic Upright MRI images of the joint under conditions that express the abnormal pathology. The Dynamic Upright MRI parameters are based on the suspected pathology. The method is particularly useful in detecting disco/ligamentous and other injuries that often times will not be visualized on conventional recumbent MRI, or static x-rays.
Apparatus, system, and method recording anatomic orientation and position
Disclosed are systems, apparatuses and methods for recording images of one or more selected anatomical features, and to facilitate re-orientation and/or re-positioning of such images to one or more desired positions.
