20220378359 · 2022-12-01 ·

Systems and methods for remote therapy and patient monitoring are provided. A method comprises contacting an outer skin surface of a patient with a contact surface of a stimulator and transmitting an electrical impulse from the stimulator transcutaneously through the outer skin surface to a nerve within the patient. Data related to parameters of the electrical impulse applied to the nerve is stored and transmitted to a remote source. The data may include duration of treatment, amplitude of the electrical impulse, compliance with a prescribed therapy regimen or other relevant data related to the therapy. The method may further include collecting patient status data, such as symptoms of a medical condition (e.g., severity of a headache) before, during and/or after stimulation. The patient status data is correlated with the treatment data to monitor compliance and/or the effectiveness of the therapy.

VERBAL PERIODIC SCREENING FOR HEART DISEASE

A method for analyzing a voice sample of a subject to determine a cardiac condition, for example, an arrhythmic condition, comprising extracting at least one voice feature from the voice sample, detecting an effect of the cardiac condition on the at least one voice feature and determining the cardiac condition based on the effect. Disclosed is also a system for determining the cardiac condition in the voice sample provided by the subject. Related apparatus and methods are also described.

NEUROSTIMULATION PROGRAMMING AND TRIAGE BASED ON FREEFORM TEXT INPUTS

Systems and techniques are disclosed to evaluate a neurostimulation treatment provided from a neurostimulation device, based on freeform text analysis. In an example, a system or device to evaluate a neurostimulation treatment provided from a neurostimulation device is configured to perform operations that: obtain text content, originating from text or voice input of a human patient, which relates to a state of a human patient; identify a state of the human patient from natural language processing of the text content; obtain device data from the neurostimulation device; identify a state of the neurostimulation treatment of the human patient from the device data; associate the identified state of the human patient to the identified state of the neurostimulation treatment; and initiate an action for the neurostimulation treatment, based on the identified state of the human patient that is associated with the identified state of the neurostimulation treatment.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR MONITORING OR ASSESSING MOVEMENT DISORDERS OR OTHER PHYSIOLOGICAL PARAMETERS USING A STIMULATION SYSTEM

Electrical stimulation systems and methods for operation of the electrical stimulation system are described. The method includes directing electrical stimulation through the electrodes of the lead and monitoring movements of a hand positioned over an implantation site of an implantable control module of the electrical stimulation system using an accelerometer coupled to a processor of the implantable control module. Another method includes detecting, by a sensor, a plurality of taps of a body region of a patient over an implantation site of the implantable control module, identifying, by the processor of the implantable control module, an indicator, trigger, or marker based on the detected tapping, and performing an activity corresponding to the identified indicator, trigger, or marker.

MULTI-SENSORY EAR-WEARABLE DEVICES FOR STRESS RELATED CONDITION DETECTION AND THERAPY

Embodiments herein relate to ear-wearable systems and devices that can detect and/or take actions to prevent or alleviate stress related conditions such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the like. In an embodiment, an ear-wearable stress therapy system is included having a control circuit, a first sensor package, a microphone, and an electroacoustic transducer, wherein the electroacoustic transducer is in electrical communication with the control circuit. The ear-wearable stress therapy system can be configured to initiate administration of desensitization and reprocessing (DR) therapy to a device wearer. Other embodiments are also included herein.

DETECTION OF COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT USING SPEECH FEATURE DISTRIBUTION

A method, computer system, and a computer program product for speech feature distribution is provided. The present invention may include receiving two or more speech samples from a user. The present invention may include dividing the two or more speech samples into a a plurality of pause segments. The present invention may include determining a pause duration for each of the plurality of pause segments. The present invention may include determining a distribution of pause durations. The present invention may include determining a distance between the distribution of pause durations.

Methods and systems for estimation of obstructive sleep apnea severity in wake subjects by multiple speech analyses

Provided herein is a method and system for the estimation of apnea-hypopnea index (AHI), as an indicator for Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) severity, by combining speech descriptors from three separate and distinct speech signal domains. These domains include the acoustic short-term features (STF) of continuous speech, the long-term features (LTF) of continuous speech, and features of sustained vowels (SVF). Combining these speech descriptors may provide the ability to estimate the severity of OSA using statistical learning and speech analysis approaches.

REQUESTING ASSISTANCE BASED ON USER STATE

Assistance may be provided to a first user of a first device by monitoring sensors of the first device and providing assistance via a character presented by the device. Sensor data, such as audio, video, or biometric data, may be transmitted to a server, and a server may process the sensor data to determine a state of the first user. The server may determine to request assistance based on the state of the first user. The server may then send a request to a second device of a second user to guide the character presented by the first device. The second user may then provide assistance to the first user by guiding the character presented by the first device.

Method and device for stuttering alleviation

A device for stuttering alleviation is disclosed, comprising a speech sensor, configured to output signals indicative of speech, a processing unit configured to detect stuttering, log stuttering and/or produce stimulation indication based on stimulation rules Said device may further comprise a remote server and a server user interface, configured to allow the speech therapist access to the processing unit. Further provided is a method for accelerating the learning procedure for obtaining a permanent fluent speech, comprising receiving and analyzing speech parameters, determining whether a negative reinforcement is required and executing the negative reinforcement.

AUTOMATED ASSESSMENT OF COGNITIVE AND SPEECH MOTOR IMPAIRMENT

The application relates to devices and methods for assessing cognitive impairment and/or speech motor impairment in a subject. The method comprises analysing a voice recording from a word- reading test obtained from the subject by identifying a plurality of segments of the voice recording that correspond to single words or syllables and determining the number of correctly read words in the voice recording and/or the speech rate associated with the recording. Determining the correct number of words in the recording may comprise computing one or more Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCCs) for the segments, clustering the resulting vectors of values into n clusters, wherein each cluster has n possible labels, predicting a sequence of words in the voice recording using the labels associated with the clustered vectors of values, performing a sequence alignment between the predicted sequence of words and the sequence of words used in the word reading test, selecting the labels that result in the best alignment and counting the number of matches in the alignment. The devices and methods find use in the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases or disorders such as neurological disorders.
