OPEN PORT SAMPLING INTERFACE
A system for sampling a sample material includes a probe which can have an outer probe housing with an open end. A liquid supply conduit within the housing has an outlet positioned to deliver liquid to the open end of the housing. The liquid supply conduit can be connectable to a liquid supply for delivering liquid at a first volumetric flow rate to the open end of the housing. A liquid exhaust conduit within the housing is provided for removing liquid from the open end of the housing. A liquid exhaust system can be provided for removing liquid from the liquid exhaust conduit at a second volumetric flow rate. A droplet dispenser can dispense drops of a sample or a sample-containing solvent into the open end of the housing. A sensor and a processor can be provided to monitor and maintain a liquid dome present at the open end.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REMOTE TRANSDERMAL ALCOHOL MONITORING
A system for remote transdermal alcohol monitoring includes and/or interfaces with a transdermal alcohol sensing device. Additionally or alternatively, the system can include and/or interface with any or all of: a user device; a supplementary alcohol sensing device; a set of supplementary sensors; a computing subsystem; a user interface; and/or any other components. A method for remote transdermal alcohol monitoring includes: receiving a set of inputs; determining a set of outputs; and triggering an action based on the set of outputs.
NON-INVASIVE MEDICAL ANALYSIS BASED ON TS FUZZY CONTROL
Measuring and monitoring the glucose and other blood elements through high accuracy non-invasive method. The proposed approach is based on TS Fuzzy model in order to modeling the proportion of each component in blood. This model determine the degree of absorption for each component and allows the measurement of glucose with more degree of accuracy.
The proposed method use Monte Carlo Simulation in order to measuring the path-length of photon in different tissues. We develop a modified Monte Carlo Algorithm based on TS Fuzzy model. Then, we can determine several concentration of elements in blood by using this method. On the other hand, we propose a novel laser diode in order to measuring concentrations of different blood components. The proposed diode give a de-multiplexing of enter light to several wavelengths needed for determination of element concentration in blood by using Bear Lambert Law. Two methods are proposed or this end, Silicon On Isolator method and Photonic Crystal method. We develop Multiplexer/De-Multiplexer based on one of these method in order to decompose the incident light to wavelength needed by system. Third part, concern the modification of regression approach by using TS Fuzzy model in order to give more accuracy in measurement of glucose level in blood. The regression methods studies are linear regression and ordinary least square regression.
Method and system for assessing drinking behavior
Method and system for self-assessment of drinking behavior. According to one embodiment, the method includes examining a transdermal alcohol response curve obtained from a drinking event, querying a user on their feelings of intoxication after or during the event, and using the combination of the objective measurement and subjective feelings of intoxication to provide an alert or status during subsequent drinking events. In so doing, the method mitigates at least some of the drawbacks associated with conventional alcohol monitoring devices by correlating an individual's reported feelings of intoxication with an objective transdermal measurement of alcohol.
Drug eluting matrix on analyte indicator
A sensor that may be implanted within a living animal (e.g., a human) and may be used to measure an analyte (e.g., glucose or oxygen) in a medium (e.g., interstitial fluid, blood, or intraperitoneal fluid) within the animal. The sensor may include a sensor housing and an analyte indicator covering at least a portion of the sensor housing. The sensor may include a drug-eluting matrix that covers at least a portion of the analyte indicator. The drug-eluting matrix may include one or more openings configured to allow the medium to pass through the drug-eluting matrix and come into contact with the analyte indicator. The sensor may include one or more therapeutic agents. The one or more therapeutic agents may reduce deterioration of the analyte indicator. The one or more therapeutic agents may be incorporated within the drug-eluting matrix.
Systems and methods for impairment testing in a monitoring system
Various embodiments provide systems and methods for identifying impairment using measurement devices.
Systems and methods for detecting impairment of an individual
System and methods are provided for detecting impairment of an individual. The method involves operating a processor to: receive at least one image associated with the individual; and identify at least one feature in each image. The method further involves operating the processor to, for each feature: generate an intensity representation for that feature; apply at least one impairment analytical model to the intensity representation to determine a respective impairment likelihood; and determine a confidence level for each impairment likelihood based on characteristics associated with at least the applied impairment analytical model and that feature. The method further involves operating the processor to: define the impairment of the individual based on at least one impairment likelihood and the respective confidence level.
System and method for rapid evaporative ionization of liquid phase samples
According to some embodiments, systems and methods for rapid evaporation of liquid phase samples are provided. The method includes directing liquid samples to a thermal evaporation ionizing device, thermally evaporating the liquid samples to create gaseous molecular ions, and directing the gaseous molecular ions to an ion analyzer to analyze and provide information regarding the chemical composition of the liquid samples.
INTELLIGENT DENTAL ORNAMENT AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME
The invention provides an intelligent dental ornament and a method of using the same, the intelligent dental ornament comprising: a dental ornament body with a cavity, a tester located within the cavity and for detecting a physiological parameter, a battery used by the tester, and a trigger switch for triggering the tester to start test; the dental ornament body is further provided with a through-hole for at least one pipette of the tester stretching out of the dental ornament body, and a sealing cover for sealing the through-hole. When the trigger switch activates the tester, the sealing cover is opened, and the pipette of the tester stretches out of the dental ornament body through the through-hole to obtain the saliva of the subject, and the physiology parameter in the saliva is detected, and the detection result is sent to an external device in communication with the tester. The intelligent dental ornament can intelligently detect the physiology parameters such as the blood glucose or alcohol content without affecting the aesthetics of the dental ornament, and has the advantages of simple operation, reducing pain of the user, being reusable, and reducing cost.
