A flexible knee brace has integrated accelerometers. The knee brace is a sleeve having panels that provide support to the knee. Accelerometers may be affixed with one or a pair of the braces at different locations on the braces to obtain and evaluate data regarding movement of the knee.

SENSING FOR HEART FAILURE MANAGEMENT

In some examples, determining a heart failure status includes using an implantable medical device configured for subcutaneous implantation and comprising a plurality of electrodes and an optical sensor. Processing circuitry of a system comprising the device may determine, for a patient, a current tissue oxygen saturation value based on a signal received from the at least one optical sensor, a current tissue impedance value based on a subcutaneous tissue impedance signal received from the electrodes, and a current pulse transit time value based on a cardiac electrogram signal received from the electrodes and at least one of the signal received from the optical sensor and the subcutaneous tissue impedance signal. The processing circuitry may further compare the current tissue oxygen saturation value, current tissue impedance value, and current pulse transit time value to corresponding baseline values, and determine the heart failure status of the patient based on the comparison.

STRESS MANAGEMENT APPARATUS, STRESS MANAGEMENT METHOD, AND COMPUTER READABLERECORDING MEDIUM

A stress management apparatus that manages a subject comprise a short-term stress calculation unit that calculate a short-term stress value that indicates stress felt by a subject in a first period, a long-term stress calculation unit that calculate a long-term stress value that indicates stress felt by the subject in a second period that is longer than the first period and includes the first period; and a notification unit that notify management information for managing stress of the subject based on the long-term stress value and the short-term stress value.

THERAPEUTIC SMILE DETECTION SYSTEMS

Systems for detecting when a person exhibits a smile with therapeutic benefits including a facial expression detection device and a system processor. The facial expression detection device is configured to acquire facial expression data. The system processor is in data communication with the facial expression detection device and is configured to execute stored computer executable system instructions. The computer executable system instructions include the steps of receiving facial expression parameter data establishing target facial expression criteria, receiving current facial expression data from the facial expression detection device, comparing the current facial expression data to the target facial expression criteria of the facial expression parameter data, and identifying whether the current facial expression data satisfies the target facial expression criteria. The target facial expression criteria define a smile with therapeutic benefits.

PROBE, PACKAGE PROBE, EXTERNAL DEVICE CONNECTOR, AND BIOFEEDBACK DEVICE

A probe includes an insertion portion insertable into a body organ, a projecting portion being exposed to an outside of a body after the insertion portion is inserted into the body organ, a device mounting area onto which an external-device coupler is removably mountable, and sensing electrodes provided on the insertion portion and the device mounting area. When the insertion portion is inserted into the body organ, the sensing electrodes detect a biosignal and become conductive with coupling electrodes of the external-device coupler mounted onto the device mounting area. The probe is an electromyograph probe that detects a biosignal measurable by an electromyograph. The insertion portion and the projecting portion of the probe may be integrated or separate from each other. Both of the insertion portion and the projecting portion or only the insertion portion may be disposable.
