Food intake monitor
Systems and methods for monitoring food intake include an air pressure sensor for detecting ear canal deformation, according to some implementations. For example, the air pressure sensor detects a change in air pressure in the ear canal resulting from mandible movement. Other implementations include systems and methods for monitoring food intake that include a temporalis muscle activity sensor for detecting temporalis muscle activity, wherein at least a portion of the temporalis muscle activity sensor is coupled adjacent a temple portion of eyeglasses and disposed between the temple tip and the frame end piece. The temporalis muscle activity sensor may include an accelerometer, for example, for detecting movement of the temple portion due to mandibular movement from chewing.
Safety constraints for a control algorithm based drug delivery system
Disclosed are a system, methods and computer-readable medium products that provide safety constraints for an insulin-delivery management program. Various examples provide safety constraints for a control algorithm-based drug delivery system that provides automatic delivery of a drug based on sensor input. Glucose measurement values may be received at regular time intervals from a sensor. A processor may predict future glucose values based on prior glucose measurement values. The safety constraints assist in safe operation of the drug delivery system during various operational scenarios. In some examples, predicted future glucose values may be used to implement safety constraints that mitigate under-delivery or over-delivery of the drug while not overly burdening the user of the drug delivery system and without sacrificing performance of the drug delivery system. Other safety constraints are also disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS TO DETECT AND CHARACTERIZE STRESS USING PHYSIOLOGICAL SENSORS
A method includes receiving multimodal data collected using at least one wearable device during an assessment window. The method also includes extracting biomarker features from the multimodal data, based on changes in the extracted biomarker features. The method also includes detecting that a stress event occurred during the assessment window. The method also includes accessing a plurality of templates of patterns in biomarker features, wherein a first subset of the templates is associated with unhealthy response to stress and a second subset of the templates is associated with healthy response to stress. The method also includes determining whether the stress event corresponds to a healthy response or an unhealthy response based on similarities between a pattern in the extracted biomarker features and the plurality of templates. The method also includes responsive to the stress event corresponding to an unhealthy response, providing a stress management recommendation.
State assessment system, diagnosis and treatment system, and method for operating the diagnosis and treatment system
A state assessment system, a diagnosis and treatment system and a method for operating the diagnosis and treatment system are disclosed. An oscillator model converts a physiological signal of a subject into a defined feature image. A classification model analyzes state information of the subject based on the feature image. An analysis model outputs a treatment suggestion for the subject based on the state information of the subject. An AR projection device projects acupoint positions of a human body onto the subject, for the subject to be treated based on the treatment suggestion.
Therapeutic smile detection systems
Systems for detecting when a person exhibits a smile with therapeutic benefits including a facial expression detection device and a system processor. The facial expression detection device is configured to acquire facial expression data. The system processor is in data communication with the facial expression detection device and is configured to execute stored computer executable system instructions. The computer executable system instructions include the steps of receiving facial expression parameter data establishing target facial expression criteria, receiving current facial expression data from the facial expression detection device, comparing the current facial expression data to the target facial expression criteria of the facial expression parameter data, and identifying whether the current facial expression data satisfies the target facial expression criteria. The target facial expression criteria define a smile with therapeutic benefits.
Automatic treatment of pain
Disclosed are methods and medical device systems for automated delivery of therapies for pain and determination of need for and safety of treatment. In one embodiment, such a medical device system may comprise a sensor configured to sense at least one body signal from a patient; and a medical device configured to receive a first sensed body signal from the sensor; determine a patient pain index based at least in part on said first sensed body signal; determine whether said patient pain index is above at least a first pain index threshold; determine a safety index based at least in part on a second sensed body signal; select a pain treatment regimen based on at least one of said safety index and or a determination that said pain index is above said first pain index threshold; and deliver said pain treatment regimen.
Suggesting behavioral adjustments based on physiological responses to stimuli on electronic devices
Introduced here are health management platforms able to monitor changes in the health state of a subject based on the context of digital activities performed by, or involving, the subject. Initially, a health management platform can identify a physiological response by examining physiological data associated with a subject. Then, the health management platform can identify a stimulus presented by an electronic device that provoked the physiological response by examining contextual data associated with the subject. The contextual data may be in the form of a screenshot of a computer program in use by the subject during the physiological response. In some embodiments, the health management platform prompts the subject to specify whether the physiological response is a positive physiological response that resulted in an upward shift in health or a negative physiological response that resulted in a downward shift in health.
METHOD FOR SIGNALLING VITAL PARAMETERS AND/OR VITAL PARAMETER PATTERNS IN A VEHICLE
A method for signaling a measured and/or a predetermined vital parameter and/or vital parameter pattern for a vehicle occupant in a vehicle involves arranging a functional element set up to have a visual and/or audible and/or haptic effect on at least one vehicle occupant, and a measured and/or a predetermined vital parameter and/or vital parameter pattern is signaled non-verbally by the functional element.
