Systems and methods for remotely-enabled identification of a user infection
Systems and methods for identifying a condition of a user. A treatment apparatus is configured to be manipulated by the user for performing an exercise, and an interface is communicably coupled to the treatment apparatus. One or more sensors are configured to sense one or more characteristics of an anatomical structure of the user. A processing device and a memory is communicatively coupled to the processing device. The memory includes computer readable instructions, that when executed by the processing device, cause the processing device to: receive, from the sensors, one or more sensor inputs representative of the one or more of characteristics of the anatomical structures; calculate an infection probability of a disease based on the one or more characteristics of the anatomical structures; and output, to the interface, a representation of the infection probability.
MONITORING AND THERAPY DEVICES AND METHODS OF USING SAME
A monitoring and/or therapy apparatus can include a contact layer having a stretchable or substantially stretchable substrate, at least one strain sensor coupled with the contact layer, and electronic circuitry electronically coupled with the at least one strain sensor configured to determine an amount of an elongation of the at least one strain sensor based on a change in a resistance or capacitance of the at least one strain sensor. The at least one strain sensor can include a plurality of stretchable tracks positioned on the substrate, and can be configured such that the resistance of the at least one strain sensor increases as the contact layer is elongated and/ or curved. In some arrangements, the apparatus and/or the substrate can be attached to or adjacent to a user’s joint, and/or a wound, and can be configured to have reduced pressure applied to the space under the contact layer..
Pattern recognition system for classifying the functional status of patients with chronic heart, lung, and pulmonary vascular diseases
Systems and methods for evaluating patients are provided. An example includes receiving first cardiopulmonary exercise test data for the patient and plotting a first vector based on the first cardiopulmonary exercise test data, the first vector including a first point based on a rest value and a second point based on an exercise value. A first coordinate value of the first point and a first coordinate value of the second point may be based on mixed expired CO.sub.2 (PECO.sub.2) and a second coordinate value of the first point and a second coordinate value of the second point may be based on end tidal CO.sub.2 (PetCO.sub.2). The example may also include plotting a midpoint of the first vector and triggering display of the plotted vector and plotted midpoint. The plotted vector and plotted midpoint may be displayed over a coordinate grid having multiple physiological condition zones.
METHOD FOR DETECTING EPILEPTIC AND PSYCHOGENIC SEIZURES
The invention relates to a method for detecting epileptic or psychogenic seizures, comprising the steps of: a. recording a large number of temporally sequential parameter values for a parameter type, wherein a parameter value is determined on the basis of a series of temporally sequential RR intervals, the series of temporally sequential parameter values preferably differing in that the series that served as the basis for determining the following parameter value includes, in place of the oldest RR interval of the series that served as the basis for determining the preceding parameter value (preceding series), the RR interval temporally subsequent to the most recent RR interval of the preceding series, b. comparing the time course of the parameter values with the time course of parameter values for the same parameter type that had been determined according to method step a, and the determination thereof is based on RR intervals that indicate a seizure (parameter reference values), c. identifying a seizure when the time course of the parameter values exhibits a characteristic of the time course of the parameter reference values (course characteristic) indicating a seizure.
Information provision method, information processing system, information terminal, and information processing method
In order to objectively grasp a stress state of a user and to prevent postpartum depression, biological gas information is acquired via a network, where the biological gas information indicates a concentration of tetradecane of the user and is obtained by a sensor that detects tetradecane released from a skin surface of the user. From a memory storing information including an upper limit of a normal range of the concentration of tetradecane per unit period, the information indicating the upper limit of the normal range is read out. When a frequency in the unit period with which the concentration of tetradecane of the user exceeds the upper limit of the normal range is determined to have an increasing tendency based on the biological gas information obtained during a pregnancy period of the user, the information related to stress of the user is output to an information terminal of the user.
ELECTRICAL BICYCLE ("E-BIKE") DETECTOR FOR ENERGY EXPENDITURE ESTIMATION
Embodiments are disclosed for an electrical bicycle detector for energy expenditure estimation. In an embodiment, a method comprises: determining heart rate energy expenditure of a user wearing or holding the device; determining work rate energy expenditure of a user wearing or holding the device; determining a probability that the user is riding an electrical bike based on the heart rate energy expenditure and the work rate energy expenditure; determining whether or not the probability meets a condition corresponding to a threshold probability; and in accordance with the probability meeting the condition corresponding to the threshold probability: adjusting the work rate energy expenditure; and generating fitness data based at least on the adjusted work rate energy expenditure.
Searching system for biosignature extraction and biomarker discovery
An automated system and method is provided for biotype extraction and biomarker discovery from task-based fMRI imaging data. The system and method may include automatically mapping a localizome, such as a task-condition/contrast/population-specific brain functional localizome, based on fMRI data and automatically selecting and sorting brain regions or brain nodes to produce a subset of functional brain regions or brain nodes. A report may then be generated indicating that the subject has a particular brain circuit pattern of activity and connectivity associated with one or more symptoms of the given mental disorder, treatments, or associated with normal brain functions, based upon the extracted biosignatures by searching for the optimal multivariate classifier with least dimensionality in the brain functional localizome. These biosignatures and biomarkers that reveal hidden, implicit, and latent brain circuit patterns provoked by fMRI tasks, can also provide for the development of non-invasive diagnostics and targeted therapeutics in neuropsychiatric diseases.
