Method for determining the physical and/or psychological state of a subject
The invention relates to a method for determining the physical and/or psychological state of a subject. The heart rate variability (HRV) of the subject is analyzed in the time domain, wherein at least one frequency distribution of interbeat intervals (IBI) which are detected in at least one examination time period (1) is examined in the analysis. In order to obtain particularly significant and quickly interpretable information for this purpose, the frequency distribution is examined for a multimodal distribution.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ESTIMATION OF STRESS OF A PERSON USING PHOTOPLETHYSMOGRAPHY
A system and method for determining a stress level of a person is provided. The system creates a numerical solution to mathematical model of a blood pressure (BP) regulation, lumped mathematical model of a radial artery and partial differential equation (PDE) model of the radial artery. These models are then used to generate an inference engine using. The inference engine is trained using an artificial neural network technique. At the same time the PPG signal of the person is sensed and preprocessed. The preprocessed PPG signal is then given to the trained inference engine. The trained inference engine generates a stress parameter corresponding to the person based on the processed PPG signal.
GAIT MECHANICS FOR USE IN FACILITATING ENHANCED MUSCLE CONTRACTILE CAPABILITIES
Methods, systems and kits are disclosed for facilitating a subject's gait and gait mechanics. Movement patterns with muscle hierarchy are also disclosed.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANAGING A POSITION MANAGEMENT PROTOCOL BASED ON DETECTED INCLINATION ANGLE OF A PERSON
A system for monitoring medical conditions including pressure ulcers, pressure-induced ischemia and related medical conditions comprises at least one sensor adapted to detect one or more patient characteristic including at least position, orientation, temperature, acceleration, moisture, resistance, stress, heart rate, respiration rate, and blood oxygenation, a host for processing the data received from the sensors together with historical patient data to develop an assessment of patient condition and suggested course of treatment, including either suspending or adjusting turn schedule based on various types of patient movement. Compliance with Head-of-Bed protocols can also be performed based on actual patient position instead of being inferred from bed elevation angle. The sensor can include bi-axial or tri-axial accelerometers, as well as resistive, inductive, capacitive, magnetic and other sensing devices, depending on whether the sensor is located on the patient or the support surface, and for what purpose.
Textile-based printable electrodes for electrochemical sensing
Techniques and systems are disclosed for implementing textile-based screen-printed amperometric or potentiometric sensors. The chemical sensor can include carbon based electrodes to detect at least one of NADH, hydrogen peroxide, potassium ferrocyanide, TNT or DNT, in liquid or vapor phase. In one application, underwater presence of chemicals such as heavy metals and explosives is detected using the textile-based sensors.
Statistical dependence-aware biological predictive system
A computer implemented method includes accessing a multivariate time series set of samples collected by multiple biological sensors sensing a first biological function over a first period of time, dividing the data set into windows, calculating statistical dependencies between the samples of the timeseries data collected by each sensor, generating a relationship matrix as a function of the statistical dependencies, and transforming the relationship matrix to generate a first feature vector for each window of time that captures the statistical dependencies amongst the sensors.
Reflective video display apparatus for interactive training and demonstration and methods of using same
A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.
RADIO WAVE TRANSDUCER AND A METHOD FOR DETECTION OF SPINAL SEGMENTAL DYSFUNCTION
The invention discloses a radio wave transducer for the detection of spinal segmental dysfunction, comprising two radio wave emitters and at least one switch; the two radio wave emitters are electrically connected to the switch; each of the two radio wave emitters has a RLC circuit consisting of a resistor, an inductor and a capacitor, one end of the resistor is electrically connected to one end of the inductance, the other end of the inductance is electrically connected to one end of the capacitor, the other end of the resistor is electrically connected to one end of the switch, the other end of the capacitor is electrically connected to the other end of the switch. This invention also discloses a method for detection of spinal segmental dysfunction.
