A dental and facial imaging device includes an adjustable arm, an image sensor mounted on a first end of the adjustable arm and an adjustable patient positioning arm mounted on a second end of the adjustable arm. A distance between the adjustable patient positioning arm and the image sensor is adjustable based on an adjustable length of the adjustable arm. A position indicator scale of the adjustable arm includes multiple notches for calibrating the distance between the adjustable patient positioning arm and the image sensor. The adjustable patient positioning arm includes a patient teeth supporting device and a patient chin rest which are positioned at a fixed coordinate reference relative to the image sensor to capture an image of a patient's teeth. The fixed coordinate reference corresponds to co-ordinates of multiple anatomical planes associated with the patient teeth supporting device and a patient chin rest relative to the image sensor.

Radio frequency head coil for a magnetic resonance imaging system and methods thereof

In an embodiment, a radio frequency head coil for a magnetic resonance imaging system is provided. The radio frequency head coil includes a body defining an imaging cavity for receiving a head of a patient, and one or more bracket shells disposed within the body. At least one or more coil elements operative to receive a magnetic resonance signal emitted from the patient are disposed on the bracket shells.

An apparatus having a longitudinal axis and an upper surface for supporting an individual at least partially positioned on a bed or other support structure, such as, for example, a bed within a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine, is disclosed. The individual can have hips, legs and an upper back. The apparatus comprises a bladder that is configured to be positioned beneath the hips of the individual. The bladder has a first end and an opposed second end that is spaced from the first end along the longitudinal axis. The bladder is configured to expand upon receiving air from an air supply in order to elevate the hips of the individual relative to the upper back of the individual. A valve is in fluid communication with the bladder. The valve is configured to selectively allow air from the air supply into the bladder. The apparatus can be nonferrous.

Floating patella sensor, knee stabilizer with same and robotic knee testing apparatus with same

A joint manipulation and evaluation apparatus has a mechanism configured to manipulate a first bone of a joint relative to a second bone of the joint. The apparatus has a joint stabilizer arranged to engage the joint and hold the second bone in place as the first bone is manipulated. A sensor is coupled to the joint stabilizer and is configured and arranged to detect residual movement of a clamped portion of the joint relative to the joint stabilizer as the first bone is manipulated.

INFLATABLE HEAD SUPPORT

The invention relates to a stabilising head support for use by a patient during MRI scanning. The head support includes a shell and an inflatable bladder that is located at least partially within the shell. During use, the shell is located within an MRI magnet and the bladder is inflated about the patients head to help hold the head steady during imaging.

Medical imaging apparatus and sensor arrangement therefor for acquiring at least one item of patient movement information during a medical imaging examination

A medical imaging apparatus, and a sensor arrangement for acquiring at least one item of patient movement information during a medical imaging examination, have at least one sensor element and a support apparatus, with the at least one sensor element arranged on the support apparatus. The support apparatus has a positioning element for positioning the support apparatus and at least one strut-like support element on which the at least one sensor element is removably arranged.

A body composition analysis system having image scanning function includes an image capturing device, a body composition analyzer having a stand platform with two first electrode sets, two handrails and a calculating unit electrically connected with the image capturing device, and a control panel. Each handrail has a telescopic rod and a handle having a second electrode set. An end of each telescopic rod is pivotably attached to the stand platform. Each handle is disposed at another end of each telescopic rod. The calculating unit includes a body shape module database and a calculational logic, receives resistance and reactance measured by the first and second electrode sets and image data obtained by the image capturing device, and after comparing the image data with the body shape module database, calculates by the calculational logic to obtain a body composition data to be shown on the control panel.

SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR SECURING KNEE JOINT WITH A LOAD FOR MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING

A system that includes: a force sensor assembly adapted to monitor a load as applied on a subject’s knee joint when the force sensor assembly remains in direct contact with the subject’s lower extremity and the load is monitored from inside a main magnet of an MRI scanner; a mobile unit comprising tracks configured to adjust a position of the force sensor assembly; a stationary base on which the mobile unit and the force sensor assembly are located, the mobile unit translatable solely axially on the stationary base; and a processor coupled to the force sensor assembly and programmed to read information encoding the load being monitored by the force sensor assembly, wherein an MRI scan of the knee j oint is initiated only when a predetermined load has been applied to the subject’s knee joint for a pre-determined period of time.
