Apparatus for the, in particular, transperineal examination of patients, consisting of two leg holders (1) arranged symmetrically in relation to the longitudinal axis of the patient, wherein the leg holders (1) have arranged between them a carriage (2) which runs parallel to the center plane of the patient and can be displaced, and arrested, in the direction of the longitudinal axis and, at its patient end, has a frame (3) which is oriented perpendicularly to the displacement direction and is suitable for accommodating a grid (4) and/or a targeting device or an NMR coil.

DISPLACEMENT MECHANISM FOR PATIENT CONTROLLED PLACEMENT AND REMOVAL OF AN OPTICAL DEVICE IN A CONFINED SPACE ENVIRONMENT
20230172452 · 2023-06-08 ·

A displacement mechanism for placing an optical device onto a patient's eyes and removing the optical device from the patient's eyes when the patient is located in a patient bore of a medical imaging system. The mechanism includes a pneumatic device and a resilient element attached between an inner surface of the patient bore and the optical device wherein the resilient element extends through the pneumatic device and wherein the optical device is spaced apart from the patient's eyes in a first position. A pump inflates the pneumatic device to move the optical device to a second position wherein the optical device is placed on the patient's eyes. Inflation of the pneumatic device extends the resilient element and biases the resilient element to return to the first position. A vent valve vents air from the pneumatic device to return the optical device to the first position.

System for screening skin condition for tissue damage

The present invention relates to a novel approach means of screening various skin surfaces, including hard to reach areas of the human body, as well as more commonly seen areas such as the foot. The present invention can help patients, especially those who are immobile or those with diabetes self-monitor and transmit the skin condition accurately, so that medical providers may assess the risk or presence of skin tissue breakdown. Thus, provision is made for a remote screening device that can be used in telemedicine or home self-monitoring approaches and offers high resolution image, without artifacts or other distortions that might arise from images taken of feet that have been compressed through standing and the like.

Methods and systems for noninvasive and localized brain liquid biopsy using focused ultrasound

Among the various aspects of the present disclosure is the provision of a noninvasive and localized brain liquid biopsy using focused ultrasound. Briefly, therefore, the present disclosure is directed to methods and systems to identify brain lesion or tumor characteristics without the need for a solid brain biopsy.

Motion tracking system for real time adaptive motion compensation in biomedical imaging

The disclosure herein provides methods, systems, and devices for tracking motion of a patient or object of interest during biomedical imaging and for compensating for that motion in the biomedical imaging scanner and/or the resulting images to reduce or eliminate motion artifacts. In an embodiment, a motion tracking system is configured to overlay tracking data over biomedical imaging data in order to display the tracking data along with its associated image data. In an embodiment, a motion tracking system is configured to overlay tracking data over biomedical imaging data in order to display the tracking data along with its associated image data. In an embodiment, one or more detectors are configured to detect images of a patient, and a detector processing interface is configured to analyze the images to estimate motion or movement of the patient and to generate tracking data describing the patient's motion. The detector processing interface is configured to send the tracking data to a scanner controller to enable adjustment of scanning parameters in real-time in response to the patient's motion.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEASURING AND ASSESSING SPINE INSTABILITY

Diagnostic systems and methods for measuring and assessing spine instability are described which involve reconstruction of a dynamic three-dimensional model of a patient's spine moving through a range of motions, and optimization of the three-dimensional model to provide relative three-dimensional position and orientation data for each vertebra in the spine throughout the motion. Vertebral movement is thereby accurately measured and instability determined for presentation in a user-friendly form.
