Patient positioning in diagnostic imaging
A positioning system (10) for positioning a patient (101) for diagnostic imaging is provided. The system comprises a sensor arrangement (12) with at least one sensor (14, 16) configured to provide a sensor signal indicative of at least one body parameter of the patient (101), a controller (18) configured to determine a value of the at least one body parameter based on the sensor signal of the at least one sensor (14, 16), and at least one actuatable support (20) configured to move at least one of an arm (105) and a leg (107) of the patient with respect to a torso of the patient. Therein, the controller (18) is configured to actuate the at least one actuatable support (20) depending on the determined value of the at least one body parameter to move at least one of the arm and the leg relative to the torso of the patient, such that the patient is guided to a posture for diagnostic imaging.
Robotic knee testing (RKT) device having decoupled drive capability and systems and methods providing the same
Various limb manipulation and evaluation devices are provided. The devices generally include three drives, namely a first drive configured to manipulate a first bone relative to a second bone in a first direction, a second drive configured to manipulate the first bone relative to the second bone in a second direction, a third drive configured to manipulate the first bone relative to the second bone in a second direction. The three directions are different relative to each other and in some embodiments represent three distinct axes. The devices are further configured such that at least one of the drives is mutually decoupled relative to at least one other drive, such that operation of the one drive does not affect the position or movement of the another drive. One or multiple of the drives may be decoupled. A corresponding method of operating such decoupled drives is also provided.
APPARATUS FOR STATIC ASSESSMENT OF FOOT AND LOWER LIMB ABNORMALITIES
An apparatus for static weight-bearing assessment of foot and lower limb abnormalities, the apparatus comprising: a platform configured to support at least part of a patient's foot; and an actuator arrangement configured to control a displacement of the platform.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR POSITIONING INVASIVE MEDICAL TOOLS RELATIVE TO 3D IMAGERY
A method and apparatus for invasive medical procedures uses a tool that includes an operative portion and a stem having a distal end attached to a proximal end of the operative portion and a proximal end configured to be held outside a subject during the invasive medical action. The tool can include a recess along the stem and a viewport. The recess is configured to removably engage an electromagnetic tracking system component comprising an electromagnetic sensor and an insulated electrical wire connected to the electromagnetic sensor. The viewport is configured to reveal a portion of the recess where the electromagnetic sensor is to be disposed. Alternatively, a frame is rigidly and removably attached to a proximal portion of the tool. The frame is also rigidly attached to electromagnetic tracking sensor suite that provides position and orientation of the frame with six degrees of freedom.
Moveable MRI system
Apparatus for imaging during surgical procedures includes an operating room for the surgical procedure and an MRI for obtaining images periodically through the surgical procedure by moving the magnet up to the table. The magnet wire is formed of a superconducting material such as magnesium di-boride or Niobium-Titanium which is cooled by a vacuum cryocooling system to superconductivity without use of liquid helium. The magnet weighs less than 1 to 2 tonne and has a floor area in the range 15 to 35 sq feet so that it can be carried on the floor by a support system having an air cushion covering the base area of the magnet having side skirts so as to spread the weight over the entire base area. The magnet remains in the room during surgery and is powered off to turn off the magnetic field when in the second position remote from the table.
ANALYSIS SYSTEM WITH A PORTABLE CONNECTED DEVICE
A portable device (1) for quantifying movements of pronation and/or supination of a person, and intended to be used when the person has the elbow on a horizontal support, comprising: a solid armature (2) with: means for attaching (4), configured to secure one hand of the person in the device (1); a central pivot element (5) intended to be in contact with the horizontal support, during the angular oscillations of the hand, between two opposed identical “first block angles” relative to a vertical position called “neutral position”, the “first block angles” defining a “small amplitude”, first means for blocking (8) the movement of pronation and the movement of supination of the elbow, at the two “first block angles”; second means for blocking (9) the movement of pronation and the movement of supination, at two identical opposed “second block angles” relative to the neutral position, between the solid armature (2) relative to the horizontal support, the “second block angles” defining a “large amplitude” greater than the “small amplitude”; an IMU (3) able to measure movement data.
FINGER INSERTS FOR A NAILFOLD IMAGING DEVICE
A finger insert for use with a nailfold imaging device includes a housing to receive the user's finger and an immersion substance (e.g., immersion oil), and a deformable pad that holds the user's finger in place during imaging, as well as prevent bubble formation in the substance. The housing includes a transparent wall to facilitate imaging of the finger. The transparent wall includes multiple angled portions that prevent or reduce contact between the nailfold and the wall, to ensure sufficient blood flow through the nailfold region for imaging.
HANDGRIP RELAXOMETER SYSTEM
A handgrip device has a palm rest operable to engage with a palm of a user, a grip bar moveably coupled with the palm rest and operable to engage with one or more fingers of a user. One or more force transducers can be disposed between the palm rest and the grip bar to measure a compression rate and the return rate of the grip bar relative to the palm rest, and a data connection operable to communicate the compression rate and the return rate.
Residual joint displacement monitoring and compensation
An apparatus for manipulation and evaluation of a joint includes a frame to support the joint and to facilitate an application of force away from the joint for the evaluation of the joint, a bracket assembly supported by, and moveable relative to, the frame, the bracket assembly being configured to engage the joint, and a sensor coupled to the bracket assembly such that the sensor is moved by displacement of the bracket assembly relative to the frame during the evaluation of the joint, the sensor being configured to generate a signal indicative of the displacement.
Oculomotor Testing Devices and Methods Using Add-On Structures for a Mobile Device
A system for the administration of oculomotor tests with a mobile device is disclosed.
