The present invention relates to a corrosion inhibitor and a corrosion inhibiting coating provided for coating a metal, particularly but not exclusively steel. The inhibitors pigment will also protect aluminium and magnesium alloys. The corrosion inhibitor particularly protects a sacrificial coating such as zinc or zinc alloy on galvanised steel, which in turn therefore provides improved corrosion resistance to the underlying steel. The present invention comprises an organic cation in a cation exchange resin.

A PRESERVATIVE COMPOSITION

The present invention provides a preservative composition to prevent and/or reduce corrosion on a metal surface comprising an anhydride-derived amide and an oil and/or a solvent, wherein the anhydride-derived amide is present in an amount in the range of from 0.01-50 wt %, based on the total weight of the preservative composition. The invention also provides a preservative composition comprising in addition a sulfonate composition; a metal article having a coating thereon which coating comprises the present preservative composition; and the use of the present preservative composition to prevent and/or reduce corrosion on a metal surface.

Coating compositions

The present disclosure provides for an aqueous dispersion for use in coating applications. The aqueous dispersion includes an aqueous composition and a solid content of a melt blend product having an acid functionalized polypropylene base polymer, a polypropylene copolymer, an acid functionalized polypropylene wax and an acid functionalized polyolefin. The aqueous dispersion is included in a coating composition, where the coating composition includes the aqueous dispersion, a solvent, a crosslinker and a basic water composition having water and a base. The present disclosure also provides for a coated article having a substrate and a coating on the substrate, where the coating includes the coating composition of the present disclosure.

Pre-treating polymer tubing or hose with a hydrophobic coating to reduce depletion of corrosion inhibitor

An inside surface of a hose for use with liquid-cooled cooling plate assemblies and other applications that contain copper (Cu) components is pre-treated with a hydrophobic coating to reduce depletion of a copper corrosion inhibitor (e.g., benzotriazole (BTA)) dissolved in a liquid coolant (e.g., deionized water) that flows through the hose. Exemplary hydrophobic coatings include, but are not limited to, polydialkylsiloxanes such as polydimethylsiloxanes. In one embodiment, a multilayer hose is immersed in a solution containing hydrophobizing siloxane monomers dissolved in a solvent. The coated multilayer hose is then dried to evaporate the solvent. As the solvent evaporates, the siloxane monomers bind together to form the hydrophobic coating. In some embodiments, one or more hoses each provided with a hydrophobic coating interconnect liquid-coolant cooling system components (e.g., cold plates, headers, manifolds, pumps, reservoirs, and heat exchangers) of a cooling apparatus that removes heat from one or more electronic components.
