The present invention is directed to coating compositions for forming diffusion coatings on metal-based substrates. The coating compositions may include a metal powder, an inorganic salt, an activator, and a binder. The present invention is also directed to processes for forming diffusion coatings on metal-based substrates using the disclosed coating compositions.

The present invention relates to a surface treatment composition comprising, on the basis of 100 wt % of the solid part of the composition, 20-40 wt % of a water-soluble polyurethane resin, 40-60 wt % of a silane-based sol-gel resin in which three types of silane compounds are cross-linked, 5-15 wt % of a curing agent, 0.5-1.5 wt % of a corrosion inhibitor, 0.1-1.0 wt % of a molybdenum-based compound, 1.0-3.0 wt % of a silane coupling agent; 1.0-2.0 wt % of an organometallic complex, 1.0-2.0 wt % of an acid scavenger, 0.1-1.0 wt % of an aluminum-based compound, and 1.0-2.0 wt % of a lubricant. A ternary hot-dip galvannealed steel sheet treated with a chromium-free surface treatment coating agent, according to an exemplary embodiment in the present invention, has excellent resistance to blackening, alkali and corrosion, and provides excellent effects without concern for problems, in chromium treatment, of additional equipment installation, an increase in manufacturing costs and environmental pollution.

METHOD FOR PROTECTING ARTICLE FROM SULFATE CORROSION AND ARTICLE WITH IMPROVED RESISTANCE TO SULFATE CORROSION

A method for protecting a surface of an article from sulfate corrosion resulting from exposure to a sulfate containing material at an elevated temperature includes coating the surface with a nickel based material to form an anti-corrosion coating. Slurry Formulations for Formation of Reactive Element-Doped Aluminide Coatings and Methods of Forming the Same

Novel slurry formulations and processes for forming improved protective coatings used in the hot section components of gas turbine engines are provided. The process includes a unique two-step deposition methodology whereby the required concentration of reactive element within an improved reactive element doped aluminide coating can be consistently produced in a reproducible manner.

Chromate-free inorganic coating systems for hot corrosion protection of superalloy substrate

Hexavalent chromium-free slurry formulations which are suitable in the production of inorganic overlay coating systems are described. The formulations provide superior hot corrosion and high-temperature oxidation protection for superalloy substrates. A basecoat slurry and topcoat slurry are provided. The basecoat slurry includes an aluminum phosphate based aqueous solution having a molar ratio of Al:P higher than about 1:3 with the incorporation of pigments of either metallic particles, or metal oxide particles, or both in combination. The topcoat slurry includes an aluminum phosphate based aqueous solution having a molar ratio of Al:P higher than about 1:3. An inorganic overlay coating formed on substrate made from the slurry formulation of present invention for hot corrosion protection on superalloy substrate against hot corrosion. Furthermore, a multilayer coating comprises a metallic bond coat and an inorganic overlay coating formed on superalloy substrate to further enhance high-temperature oxidation and hot corrosion protection.

CORROSION-RESISTANT SPRAYED COATING, METHOD FOR FORMING SAME AND SPRAYING DEVICE FOR FORMING SAME

[Problem] To provide a corrosion-resistant coating that exhibits greater corrosion protection in saltwater environments and the like than was conventional, a method for forming the same, and a device for forming the same.

[Solution] A corrosion-resistant alloy coating is formed on a substrate surface by: a) using a thermal spray gun, having a function wherein a flame including melted material particles is jetted toward a substrate, and the flame is partitioned from the open air in an upstream region on said jet path (which is to say the region in which the material particles are melted), and a function wherein, in a downstream region (the area continuing from the upstream region), the material particles and the flame are forcibly cooled by a jet-gas or jet-mist before reaching the substrate; and b) using a corrosion-resistant alloy material comprising aluminum, for the material particles.

Provided is a resin composition for an under coat of an UV coating layer and a coated steel sheet using the resin composition. The coated steel sheet comprises a material steel sheet; an under coat layer including a cured product of a resin composition for the under coat layer which contains a main resin and a metal powder, the under coat layer being formed on one side or both sides of the material steel sheet; and a top coat layer formed on the under coat layer and containing a radical compound, thereby providing a superior appearance, scratch resistance, corrosion resistance and superior weldability.
