DIRECT-TO-METAL COATING COMPOSITION
A fast drying, heavy metal-free, high performance coating composition with outstanding UV resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance coupled with fast dry and long pot life. This coating can be applied over DTM, such as blasted cold rolled steel, or treated cold rolled steel, aluminum and treated aluminum. High corrosion resistance without sacrificing gloss or UV resistance achieved by selecting proper pigments and proper pigment design and packing by advantageously utilizing differing pigment morphologies (sizes and shape).
MODIFIED OVERPRINT VARNISH
In an embodiment, the invention comprises a thermoformable sheet which comprises a polymer layer, and a barrier layer disposed adjacent the polymer layer. The barrier layer comprises a plurality of particles coated in an adhesion promotor. The plurality of coated particles are dispersed in a barrier solution of polyvinyl alcohol.
SPRAYABLE COOL WHITE COATING BASED ON CERAMIC MICROSPHERES
A coating solution that is sprayable and reflective across the UV, visible, and near-infrared wavelength ranges is described herein. Potassium bromide is used as a binder to integrate microscale ceramic bubbles. The spray coating not only provides high reflectivity all across the solar wavelengths, but also a high mid-infrared emissivity for effective surface cooling in ambient environments. Tests with concrete samples show that the spray coating allowed for significantly more cooling compared to commercially available white paints and even sub-ambient cooling under sunlight.
PRIMER COMPOSITION
A primer composition may include an olefin-based resin (A), and a flaky pigment (B), and satisfy: (1) the primer composition contains a water-immiscible organic solvent, the pigment (B) has an average particle size of?25 ?m and is present in 17+wt. %, based on total primer composition solids; (2) the primer composition contains a water-immiscible organic solvent, the pigment (B) has an average particle size of<25 ?m is present in 42+wt. %, based on total primer composition solids, or (3): the primer composition contains water, the resin (A) is a water-based resin, and a pigment (B) content is 50 wt. % or higher based on total primer composition solids. Such a primer composition can be used in a primer coating film, a layered antifouling coating film, a method for producing a primer coated substrate, or a method for producing a layered antifouling coated substrate.
BARRIER LAYER FOR CELLULOSE SUBSTRATE
A barrier layer applied to a cellulose substrate to protect sensitive substances. The cellulose substrate is coated with the barrier layer composition. An aqueous mineral suspension and an aqueous composition for preparing the barrier layer composition includes a polymeric stabilising agent prepared from (meth)acrylic acid and a polyalkoxylated methacrylic derivative.
WATER-BASED COATINGS FOR CELLULOSIC SUBSTRATES
The present invention provides water-based coatings that provide liquid resistance when applied to various substrates. The coatings are particularly suitable for cellulosic substrates such as paper or paper board. In addition to liquid resistance, the coatings have good heat sealability, and are resistant to roll blocking. Preferably, the coatings are recyclable and/or repulpable with the substrates to which they are applied. The coating compositions comprise one or more polymer binders, and one or more particles. Preferably, at least one polymer binder has a glass transition temperature (Tg) less than 10? C. Preferably, at least one polymer binder has a heat seal onset temperature of less than 200? C. Preferably, at least one particle has a mean particle size greater than 4 ?m. It is also preferable that the particles have a melting point greater than 60? C.
CURABLE LIQUID/LIQUID/SOLID MULTIPHASIC SUSPENSIONS
The present invention relates to curable compositions comprising a plurality of particles, a primary liquid phase comprising at least one polymerizable or cross-linkable organic compound that can form organic polymers or networks, and a secondary liquid phase.

A coated textile substrate containing a textile substrate having an inner side and an outer side and a continuous coating on at least the one side of the textile substrate. The continuous coating comprises a mixture of polyester polyurethane and polycarbonate polyurethane.
Method of making a textile substrate with a continuous coating of a mixture of polyester polyurethane and polycarbonate polyurethane
A coated textile substrate containing a textile substrate having an inner side and an outer side and a continuous coating on at least the one side of the textile substrate. The continuous coating comprises a mixture of polyester polyurethane and polycarbonate polyurethane.
COLOR-STABLE, ANTIMICROBIAL, POROUS GLASS POWDER AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SUCH A POWDER AT HIGH TEMPERATURES AND USE THEREOF
A color-stable, antimicrobial glass powder obtained by partial ion exchange at a temperature of 300 C. to 350 C. and an exchange time of 1 to 120 minutes, is formed of a mixture of porous glass particles having micropores and macropores made of borosilicate glass continuously foamed by extrusion having a Fe.sub.2O.sub.3 content <0.2 wt %, in which the obtained glass foam is subsequently comminuted by dry grinding to average particle sizes of 1.0 to 8.0 m. The mixture includes color stabilizers containing 0.1% to 0.2% of ammonium ions and antimicrobial metal ions from dissolved metal salts, wherein the metal ions may be silver and/or zinc and/or copper ions. A method for the production of a color-stable, antimicrobial glass powder and applications for using the color-stable, antimicrobial glass powder are also provided.
