POLYMERIZATION PROCESS FOR LIQUID COPOLYMERS OF ETHYLENE AND GLYCIDYL (METH)ACRYLATE

The present invention relates to a continuous high-pressure polymerization process for the preparation of a liquid ethylene copolymer which comprises in polymerized form ethylene; and more than 10 wt % of a reactive acrylate which is selected from glycidyl acrylate and glycidyl methacrylate, where a monomer feed comprising the ethylene and the reactive acrylate is polymerized in the presence of at least 2 wt % of a chain transfer agent.

PLASTOMERS WITH RAPID CRYSTALLIZATION RATES

Ethylene copolymer compositions having a density of 0.902 g/cm.sup.3 or less exhibit rapid crystallization behavior. The ethylene copolymer compositions comprise a first ethylene copolymer, a second ethylene copolymer and optionally a third ethylene copolymer, where the number average molecular weight of the first ethylene copolymer is greater than the number average molecular weight of the second ethylene copolymer. The ethylene copolymer compositions are useful in the formation of monolayer and multilayer films.

Semiconductive shield composition

A wire or cable comprising an insulation layer and a semiconducting shield layer over and in contact with the insulation layer and strippable from the insulation layer, the second semiconducting shield layer made from the composition comprising: (A) 45-52% ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) comprising 28-45% units derived from vinyl acetate (VA) based on the weight of the EVA; (B) 30-45% carbon black having (1) 80-1 15 milliliters per 100 grams (ml/100 g) DBP absorption value, (2) 30-60 milligrams per gram (mg/g) iodine absorption (I2NO), and (3) 0.3-0.6 grams/milliliter (g/ml) apparent density; (C) 5-20% acrylonitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) comprising 25-55% units derived from acrylonitrile (AN) based on the weight of the NBR; (D) 0.2-2% phenolic antioxidant; and (E) 0.5-2% organic peroxide.

Conductive transparent coating for rigid and flexible substrates

The present invention relates to a conductive coating composition comprising a polyolefin copolymer resin comprising an olefin monomer and acrylic acid comonomer or (meth)acrylic acid comonomer, a plurality of anisotropic nanoparticles and a solvent.

Topcoat compositions, coated substrates, and related methods

An aqueous based topcoating formulation is provided to coat various substrates such as those used in offset and electrographic printing devices. The water based coating formulation includes ethylene acrylic acid copolymer, polyethyleneimine, and a suitable crosslinker. The formulation exhibits excellent adhesion to substrates and excellent anchorage with different printing inks.

Flexible crosslinked cable insulation and methods for making flexible crosslinked cable insulation

Crosslinkable polymeric compositions comprising (a) 10 to 89 weight percent of an ethylene-based interpolymer having the following properties: (i) a density of 0.93 g/cm3 or less, (ii) a high-shear viscosity (V100) at 190 C and 10% strain of 1,200 Pa.Math.s or less, (iii) a shear thinning ratio (V0.1/V100) at 190 C and 10% strain of at least 8, and (iv) a melt index (I.sub.2) greater than 1 g/10 minutes; and (b) 10 to less than 90 weight percent of a filler, where the ethylene-based interpolymer is not prepared in a high-pressure reactor. Such crosslinkable polymeric compositions may be employed as insulation layers in flexible power cables.

Carpet coating compositions

The invention relates to the use of mixtures that contain an aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate polymer and an aqueous dispersion of a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer for carpet coating compositions, and corresponding carpet coating compositions, as well as carpets which are coated with such carpet coating compositions.

CURABLE SEMICONDUCTING COMPOSITION

A rubberless, strippable, semiconducting composition that includes an ethylene-(carboxylic ester) copolymer having a low comonomeric unit content, carbon black, and a strippability additive combination comprising an amide wax and a silicone oil. Also provided are a cured product made from the composition, methods of making and using same, and articles containing same.

Building assembly containing a water barrier coating film and method of making the building assembly

A building assembly can include a substrate and a water barrier coating film. The water barrier coating film can include a thermoplastic polymer and microporous particles, such as microporous glass beads. The water barrier coating film can provide a good protection towards liquid water but may allow water vapor flow from the substrate through the coating film. The water vapor permeability of the water barrier coating film can be at least 2 US perms as tested according to ASTM E96 (2014) at 21 C. and 50% average relative humidity.
