Implantable Bladder Fullness Sensor
An apparatus for determining the volume of urine in a human bladder is described. The apparatus uses light to determine the length of a flexible tube attached vertically to the outside of the bladder, and converts the length into a fullness value that is transmitted to an external device that notifies a user about the state of the bladder.
PREDICTIVE WEIGHTING OF HYPOTENSION PROFILING PARAMETERS
A system having a processor obtain a digital hemodynamic data from a hemodynamic sensor, obtain one or more vital sign parameters characterizing vital sign data from the digital hemodynamic data, derive differential parameters based on the one or more vital sign parameters, generate combinatorial parameters using the one or more vital sign parameters and the differential parameters, determine a risk score corresponding to a probability of a future hypotension event for the living subject based on a weighted combination of a plurality of hypotension profiling parameters including the one or more vital sign parameters characterizing vital sign data, the differential parameters and the combinatorial parameters, and invoke a sensory alarm if the risk score satisfies a predetermined risk criterion.
Systems and methods for using eye movements to determine traumatic brain injury
Systems and methods for detecting a traumatic brain injury (TBI). The system comprises a sensing arrangement and a control unit. The sensing arrangement collects eye movement data of a user. The control unit is in communication with the sensing arrangement and configured to compare the eye movement data to one or more baseline measurements of eye movement dynamics. The control unit is also configured to generate an alert indicating the presence or severity of the TBI for delivery to control unit administrator if the eye movement data diverges from one or more of the baseline measurements by a threshold amount.
FABRIC WITH STRETCHABLE SENSORS FOR SHAPE MEASUREMENT
Disclosed embodiments provide a way to perform body measurements. A garment has a sensor module attached. The garment encompasses a body portion. The sensor module is stretchable and provides electrical data. The electrical data is based on an amount that the sensor module is stretched. The electrical data from the sensor module is collected. The collected electrical data is analyzed to determine a measurement for the body portion. A size for the body portion is calculated, based on the measurement. A second sensor module is attached to the garment. Electrical data from the second sensor is also collected and analyzed. A size for the body portion is further calculated based on the electrical data from the sensor module and the second sensor module. The sensor module and the second sensor module transmit data to a computing device using distinct, wireless transmitters.
Level set calibration and assurance for pulmonary artery pressure catheterization
Embodiments of the present invention provide for maintaining a level set of a pulmonary artery catheterization apparatus that includes a pulmonary artery pressure sensor in communication with a pulmonary artery catherization manifold affixed to a pulmonary artery catheter. The method includes calibrating leveling of the pulmonary artery pressure sensor (at the level of the right atrium) with the pulmonary artery catheterization manifold by recording a vertical level of a leveling base positioned at a common level to the manifold, relative to a vertical level of a leveling sensor positioned at a common level to the pulmonary artery pressure sensor. The method further includes monitoring a difference between the recorded vertical level of the leveling base relative to the vertical level of the leveling sensor. Finally, the method includes generating an alert in a user interface element of the leveling sensor in response to the monitored difference exceeding a threshold value.
MULTIPLE WAVELENGTH SENSOR EMITTERS
A physiological sensor has light emitting sources, each activated by addressing at least one row and at least one column of an electrical grid. The light emitting sources are capable of transmitting light of multiple wavelengths and a detector is responsive to the transmitted light after attenuation by body tissue.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR INTRACAVITARY TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT AND MONITORING
Systems and methods for measuring and monitoring intracavitary tissue temperature. The system may include a catheter shaft with a circuit board disposed therein, the circuit board having an array of sensors disposed thereon. The catheter shaft may have an opening and an expandable structure surrounding the opening to provide a field of view of the intracavitary tissue for the array of sensors through the opening. The system may include a software-based programming system run on a computer such that a clinician may review information indicative of temperature of the intracavitary tissue, and be alerted if the temperature exceeds a predetermined threshold.
METHODS, APPARATUS AND SYSTEMS FOR ADAPTABLE PRESENTATION OF SENSOR DATA
A method of presenting data from a remote sensor that is monitoring a subject includes obtaining a data stream from the remote sensor, wherein the data stream includes a sensor metric, a metric identifier, dynamically updated integrity information about an accuracy of the sensor metric, and a diagnostic assessment of a health condition of the subject, and then displaying, via a display associated with the client device, the diagnostic assessment of the health condition of the subject, a metric statistic associated with the diagnostic assessment, and a recommendation as to an action to be taken by the subject.
MOISTURE DETECTING BASE PLATE FOR AN OSTOMY APPLIANCE AND A SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING MOISTURE PROPAGATION IN A BASE PLATE AND/OR A SENSOR ASSEMBLY PART
The disclosure relates to a system for determining and signalling moisture propagation in an adhesive material layer of a base plate and/or a sensor assembly part for an ostomy appliance. The disclosure further relates to aspects of a base plate and/or a sensor assembly part for an ostomy appliance and its use in such a system.
USABILITY FEATURES FOR INTEGRATED INSULIN DELIVERY SYSTEM
Methods and systems for delaying alarms that include detecting an analyte level using an analyte sensor; and delaying the annunciation of an analyte alarm after the analyte level crosses an analyte threshold, wherein the delay is based on one or both of (1) a magnitude of difference between the analyte level and the analyte threshold and (2) a duration of time in which the analyte level has crossed the analyte threshold.
