A mobile medical imaging device that allows for multiple support structures, such as a tabletop or a seat, to be attached, and in which the imaging gantry is indexed to the patient by translating up and down the patient axis. In one embodiment, the imaging gantry can translate, rotate and/or tilt with respect to a support base, enabling imaging in multiple orientations, and can also rotate in-line with the support base to facilitate easy transport and/or storage of the device. The imaging device can be used in, for example, x-ray computed tomography (CT) and/or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) applications.

Portable positron emission tomography scanner having a rotatable detector ring which can be rotated 90 degrees for imaging a patient in a vertical or horizontal configuration

A portable positron emission tomography (PET) scanner includes a rotatable scan detector ring which can be rotated 90 degrees for imaging a patient in a vertical or horizontal orientation. In the vertical orientation, a patient can be standing or seating such that the aperture of the scan detector ring is raised to allow the patient to be within the scanning region and lower to perform the image scanning on the patient. In the horizontal orientation, a patient must be lying down on a platform whereby the platform is moved within the aperture of the scan detector ring to perform the image scanning on the patient. In this horizontal orientation, the scan detector ring is also stowed and secured to be moved to other scanning locations.

SEAT ADAPTED FOR USE WITH A MAMMOGRAPHY APPARATUS

A seat adapted for use with a mammography apparatus for detecting malignant cells in a breast of a patient, said mammography apparatus comprising an x-ray source and an x-ray detector for imaging the breast, wherein the seat is provided to the mammography apparatus to enable the patient to sit during imaging, and wherein the seat is tiltable between at least two positions, a first position wherein the seat is level with the horizon, and a second position wherein the seat is tilted obliquely sideways with reference to the horizon, and wherein the seat comprises compression means for compressing the breast during x-ray imaging of the breast with the x-ray source and the x-ray detector.

Pediatric X-Ray And Examination Chair
20200121539 · 2020-04-23 ·

A pediatric x-ray and examination chair (PXEC) on which a person, particularly a child, can safely and comfortably be placed when an x-ray is being taken or a medical examination is performed. The PXEC has a horizontal seat platform, a rear vertical support extending upward from the back of the seat platform, a right vertical support frame and a left vertical support frame. A front side lower x-ray cartridge support and a rear upper x-ray cartridge support each maintain an x-ray cartridge adjacent a person in the PXEC while an x-ray is taken. A restraining harness with a waist belt and a front center belt secures a child within the PXEC. Located on the seat platform and within slots on each of the vertical support frames are cushions to increase the comfort of a child in the PXEC. In order to provide a calming distraction a simulated animal head, such as a pony or cat, can extend from the front of the PXEC. A speaker, along with a source playback device, facilitates sound coming from the animal head, such as neighing from the horse or meowing from the cat. The animal head with or without the sound, will calm and distract a child who is uncomfortable and/or afraid during an x-ray procedure or medical examination.
