METHOD FOR PRODUCING RENEWABLE FUEL
20230287281 · 2023-09-14 · ·

A process for preparing hydrocarbons from an oxygenated hydrocarbon feedstock, such as animal fat, having a high nitrogen impurity is described. The process involves hydrotreatment of the oxygenated feedstock in a first hydrotreating reactor and a further hydrotreatment in a second hydrotreating reactor, where between the two reactors, the gaseous phase is removed. The specific process setup effectively removes nitrogen impurities from the resultant hydrocarbon product causing an improved cloud point after isomerisation.

PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF FLUIDS

The invention is a process for dearomatization and isomerization of a feedstock having less than or equal to 10 ppm by weight of sulphur, the process comprising: Hydrodearomatizing the feedstock at a temperature ranging from 150 to 220° C. and at a pressure ranging from 20 to 150 bars, in order to provide a dearomatized product; Hydroisomerizing the dearomatized product at a temperature ranging from 250 to 320° C. and at a pressure ranging from 40 to 60 bars in the presence of a catalyst based on platinum or palladium, in order to provide an isomerized product; Hydrodearomatizing the isomerized product at a temperature ranging from 150 to 220° C. and at a pressure ranging from 20 to 150 bars, in order to provide an isomerized and dearomatized product.

Method of producing lubricating base oil from atmospheric residue in pyrolysis oil derived from waste plastic

Provided are a method of producing a lubricating base oil composition including a) reacting at least a part of waste plastic pyrolysis oil having a boiling point in a range higher than 340° C. to remove impurities and structurally isomerizing the oil; and b) hydroisomerizing at least a part of the product of step a), and a lubricating base oil composition produced therefrom. A lubricating base oil, which has more methyl branches than petroleum-based lubricating base oil, to have improved low-temperature properties may be provided.

PROCESS AND SYSTEM FOR BASE OIL PRODUCTION

An improved process and catalyst system for making a base oil product and for improving base oil cloud point and pour point characteristics, while also providing good product yields. The process and catalyst system generally involves the use of a layered catalyst system comprising an SSZ-91 catalyst and an SSZ-32X catalyst arranged to sequentially contact a hydrocarbon feedstock with both catalysts and thereby provide dewaxed base oil products.

MOLECULAR SIEVE SSZ-92, CATALYST, AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF

The present application pertains to family of new crystalline molecular sieves designated SSZ-92. Molecular sieve SSZ-92 is structurally similar to sieves falling within the ZSM-48 family of molecular sieves and is characterized as having magnesium.

The invention relates to an improved apparatus and methods for managing and utilizing light hydrocarbons utilized and created during the hydroprocessing of biological feedstocks in the making of middle distillate fuels.

Systems and methods for renewable fuel

The present application generally relates to the introduction of a renewable fuel oil as a feedstock into refinery systems or field upgrading equipment. For example, the present application is directed to methods of introducing a liquid thermally produced from biomass into a petroleum conversion unit; for example, a refinery fluid catalytic cracker (FCC), a coker, a field upgrader system, a hydrocracker, and/or hydrotreating unit; for co-processing with petroleum fractions, petroleum fraction reactants, and/or petroleum fraction feedstocks and the products, e.g., fuels, and uses and value of the products resulting therefrom.

Raffinate hydroconversion for production of high performance base stocks

Systems and methods are provided for production of base stocks with a viscosity index of at least 120 and/or a sulfur content of 300 wppm or less and/or a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of 3.0 cSt to 8.0 cSt by hydroconversion of a raffinate from aromatic extraction of a feed. The base stocks can further have a reduced content of 3+ ring naphthenes, such as 4.0 wt % or less, or 1.0 wt % or less. The base stocks can be produced by performing an elevated amount of feed conversion relative to 370° C. during hydroconversion of the raffinate, and optionally additional conversion during catalytic dewaxing of the hydroconverted raffinate. The base stocks can optionally be blended with additional base stocks and/or lubricant additives for production of lubricant compositions.

Preparation of an aviation fuel composition

A method is disclosed for preparing an aviation fuel composition by subjecting a feedstock of biological and/or recycled origin to cracking in a cracking unit and to fractionation in a fractionation unit to obtain a kerosene fraction. The obtained kerosene fraction is subjected to hydrotreatment in a hydrotreatment unit to form a first jet fuel component. The formed first jet fuel component is mixed with a further jet fuel component to form a fuel composition having a wear scar diameter of 0.78 mm or less, as measured with BOCLE lubricity test method according to ASTM D5001. The feedstock contains one or more of tall oil pitch (TOP), a mixture of sludge palm oil, palm fatty acid distillate and animal fat (FATS), and used lubricant oil (ULO).
