The present disclosure generally relates to a fuel additive composition for use in reducing corrosion and wear in an internal combustion engine or fuel component part thereof. The fuel additive composition includes a polyetheramine salt obtained by either (a) mixing a polyoxyalkylene monoamine and at least one of a dicarboxylic acid or a tricarboxylic acid or (b) mixing a polyoxyalkylene polyamine and at least one of a monocarboxylic acid, the dicarboxylic acid, or the tricarboxylic acid.
Compositions And Methods Of Dispergating Paraffins In Sulphur-Low Fuel Oils
The present invention relates to a low-temperature additive for fuel oils having a sulfur content of less than 50 ppm, comprising i) at least one oil-soluble amide-ammonium salt of a polycarboxylic acid with a mono- and/or dialkylamine (A) and ii) 5-100% by weight, based on the amount of amide-ammonium salt (A), of an oil-soluble amine (B), and iii) 0.1 to 10 parts by weight, based on the amount of amide-ammonium salt (A), of a resin formed from at least one aromatic compound bearing an alkyl radical and an aldehyde and/or ketone (D).
Hydrogen sulfide scavenging additive composition and method of use thereof
The present invention relates to an additive composition for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons, wherein said additive composition comprises a combination of (a) glyoxal and (b) at least one aliphatic tertiary amine or oxide treated derivative thereof, or a mixture of the aliphatic tertiary amine and the oxide treated derivative thereof. In one embodiment it also relates to a method for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons, and in another embodiment it relates to a method of using an additive composition of the present invention for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons. In yet another embodiment it relates to a composition for scavenging hydrogen sulfide in hydrocarbons comprising (A) a hydrocarbon and (B) a hydrogen sulfide scavenging additive composition of the present invention.
Emulsifier package with quaternary ammonium surfactant for fuel emulsion
A fuel emulsion for powering a diesel engine contains water, a fuel, and an emulsifier package which contains a quaternary ammonium surfactant. A method for powering a diesel engine with the fuel emulsion involves preparing the fuel emulsion by emulsifying a fuel and water in the presence of the emulsifier package. An emulsifier package for emulsifying a fuel and water contains a quaternary ammonium surfactant and at least one nonionic surfactant, which is an alkoxylate. The quaternary ammonium surfactant is obtainable by reacting a quaternizable nitrogen compound containing at least one quaternizable, especially tertiary, amino group with a quaternizing agent; which converts the at least one quaternizable, especially tertiary, amino group to a quaternary ammonium group, where the quaternizing agent is a hydrocarbyl epoxide in combination with a free hydrocarbyl-substituted polycarboxylic acid.
Fuel additive mixture providing rapid injector clean-up in high pressure gasoline engines
The present disclosure relates to methods and fuel compositions for reducing or eliminating fuel injector deposits in high pressure gasoline engines. The fuel compositions include gasoline and a synergistic combination of a fuel injector clean-up mixture including a heterocyclic amine, diamine, or open chain derivative thereof and a hydrocarbyl substituted dicarboxylic anhydride derivative selected from a diamide, acid/amide, acid/ester, diacid, amide/ester, diester, and imide.

Lubricity and conductivity improver additive for ultra low sulfur diesel fuels
The present invention discloses a single package additive for improving lubricity and conductivity properties of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuels. The single package additive is a reaction product of a fatty acid composition, a glycerol tricarboxylates, a polysulfone, a polyamine, an alkylated benzene sulfonic acid and a phenol derivative. More specifically, the present invention discloses a reaction product of: a fatty acid composition in the range of 60-95% wt/wt; a glycerol tricarboxylate in the range of 0.1-10.0% wt/wt; a polysulfone in the range of 0.1-5.0% wt/wt; a polyamine in the range of 0.1-5.0% wt/wt; an alkylated benzene sulfonic acid in the range of 0.1-5.0% wt/wt; and a phenol derivative in the range of 0.1-10.0% wt/wt. The present invention also discloses a single-pot process for the preparation of said reaction product.
Aqueous emulsions containing ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers, preparation process thereof and their use as anti-gelling additives of crude oils
The present invention relates to an aqueous emulsion comprising: a) from 50% to 60% of an organic phase dispersed in an aqueous phase, said organic phase containing a mixture including from 24% to 30%, calculated with respect to the final emulsion, of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers and/or polyalkyl(meth)acrylates, indicated in the present description as polymeric component, and a high-boiling organic solvent, or a mixture of said solvents; b) a primary emulsifier at a concentration higher or equal to 0.1% and lower than or equal to 3% by weight, calculated with respect to the final emulsion; c) from 37% to 47% of an aqueous phase; wherein the ratio between said polymer component and said organic solvent in the final aqueous emulsion is at least 1/1 and where the organic solvent and any polymer of the polymeric component have a Hildebrand solubility parameter δ such that, the difference (δ.sub.solvent_δ.sub.polymer) is lower than 2 in absolute value for any polymer of the polymeric component.

A method of improving the low temperature properties of a middle distillate fuel composition comprising: (a) a nitrogen-containing dispersant; and (b) one or more low temperature property enhancers which are not fumarate vinyl ester copolymers and which are selected from (x) wax antisettling additives; (y) middle distillate flow improvers and mixtures thereof; the method comprising adding to the fuel an additive (c) which is a copolymer comprising units of formula (A): and units of formula (B): wherein R is an alkyl group and each of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is an alkyl group.

Methods of treating a petroleum hydrocarbon fluid are described wherein the petroleum hydrocarbon fluid is contacted with an asphaltene inhibitor composition having an ionic liquid and an asphaltene inhibitor. The ionic liquid has a cation of R.sup.1R.sup.2R.sup.3R.sup.4N.sup.+ or R.sup.1R.sup.2R.sup.3N.sup.+R.sup.8N.sup.+R.sup.5R.sup.6R.sup.7 and an anion, wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are independently selected from hydrogen, a straight or branched C.sub.1-30 alkyl group, benzyl, a C.sub.7-30 alkylbenzyl group, a C.sub.7-30 arylalkyl group, a straight or branched C.sub.3-30 alkenyl group, a C.sub.1-30 hydroxyalkyl group, a C.sub.7-30 hydroxyalkylbenzyl group, an oxyalkylene or a polyoxyalkylene group or a zwitterion; R.sup.8 is a straight or branched C.sub.1-30 alkylene, an alkylene oxyalkylene or an alkylene polyoxyalkylene; and the anion includes halides, hydroxyl, bicarbonate, carbonate, alkyl carbonates, alkoxides, carboxylates, hydroxycarboxylates or a combination thereof.
