3,5,5-TRIMETHYLHEXANOIC ACID COMPOSITION AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING STORAGE STABILITY THEREOF
A 3,5,5-trimethylhexanoic acid composition containing 3,5,5-trimethylhexanoic acid and t-butyl alcohol in which the t-butyl alcohol concentration in terms of toluene-d8 measured by gas chromatography-olfactometry/mass spectrometry after heating in an air atmosphere at 80 C. for four weeks under the conditions below exceeds 0 ppb by volume and is 400 ppb by volume or less is provided. The composition has low reproductive toxicity even after long-term storage:
(Measurement Conditions) the 3,5,5-trimethylhexanoic acid composition is concentrated, and the concentrated sample is measured by gas chromatography-olfactometry using a column using dimethylpolysiloxane as a stationary phase, and the structure of a measured component is analyzed with a mass spectrometry detector.
LUBRICATING MEMBERS FOR RAZOR CARTRIDGES
The invention relates to a lubricating member for a razor cartridge comprising a lipophilic structurant and a silicone polyether block copolymer and optionally a liquid phase, which can be manufactured in a simple one batch process without thermal degradation and exhibiting improved lubricating and skin care properties over a sustained period.
Hydraulic fluids and fire-resistant fluids comprising glycerin containing by-products
Hydraulic fluid and fire-resistant fluid compositions and methods of using the compositions are provided. In an embodiment, the present invention provides a method of utilizing fire-resistant fluid in hydraulic systems. For example, the method can comprise utilizing fire-resistant fluid in hydraulic systems of casters found in steel mills, in an environment where fire safety is of concern. The fire-resistant composition can comprise one or more glycerin by-products derived from a biodiesel manufacturing process. The fire-resistant composition can also comprise one or more glycerin by-products of transesterification reactions involving triglycerides. The fire-resistant fluid can be added to hydraulic systems as a solution.
Coatings that reduce friction and wear
The present disclosure provide for coatings, coated structures, methods of coating, methods of coating a structure, and the like. In an aspect, the coating is a tribocatalytically-active coating, where the tribocatalytically-active coating interacts with the hydrocarbon environment forming a protective carbon-based tribofilm on the surface of the coating, which can be actively formed (reformed) during use of the coated structure within the hydrocarbon environment.
All-natural cleaner, lubricant and protectant composition
An all-natural multi-purpose cleaner, lubricant, and protectant composition includes 85-90 percent by weight Ethanol; 5-10 percent by weight D-Limonene: 1-5 percent by weight Lard; and less than 1 percent by weight Beeswax.
