The threaded connection for pipes or tubes according to the present embodiment includes a pin and a box. The pin and the box each include a contact surface including a threaded portion. The threaded connection for pipes or tubes includes, as an outermost layer, a lubricant coating layer formed from the aforementioned composition on at least one of the contact surfaces of the pin and the box.

Marine diesel lubricant oil compositions

A lubricating oil composition can include a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity and a minor amount of an alkaline earth metal phenol-based detergent. The lubricating oil composition can further have a BN of greater than 140 mg KOH/g, and further wherein the marine diesel cylinder lubricating oil composition is substantially free of unsulfurized tetrapropenyl phenol and its unsulfurized metal salt.
