The present invention relates to conveyor lubricant compositions including an emulsion of a lipophilic compound and also including an emulsifier and/or an anionic surfactant. The present invention also relates to methods employing such lubricant compositions. In an embodiment, the method includes applying the present lubricant composition to a conveyor with a non-energized nozzle.

LUBRICATING COMPOSITION CONTAINING AN OXYALKYLATED AROMATIC POLYOL COMPOUND

The disclosed technology provides a lubricating composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and 0.01 wt % to 10 wt % of an oxyalkylated aromatic polyol compound, wherein the aromatic compound has at least one alkoxy group represented by −OR.sup.1 group, R.sup.1 is hydroxyalkyl, or a (poly)ether group, and either: at least one hydroxyl group, or at least one alkoxy group represented by —OR.sup.1 group, where R.sup.1 is alkyl, or a (poly)ether group, or at least one oxyalkyl group represented by —OR.sup.1, where R.sup.1 is hydroxyalkyl or a (poly)ether group. The disclosed technology further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device (such as an internal combustion engine) with the lubricating composition. The disclosed technology further relates to the use of the oxyalkylated aromatic polyol compound in the lubricating composition to a passenger car internal combustion engine at least one of (i) control of fuel economy, (ii) control of corrosion, (iii) cleanliness, and (iv) control of bore wear.

A lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine includes: (A) a lubricating base oil including at least one mineral oil-based base oil and having a kinematic viscosity at 100° C. of from 2.0 mm.sup.2/s or more and 4.3 mm.sup.2/s or less, and (B) a calcium borate-containing metallic detergent in an mount of 500 mass ppm or more and less than 1500 mass ppm in terms of calcium, based on a total amount of the composition. The composition has an evaporation loss by NOACK method (250° C., 1 h) of from 10 mass % or more and 40 mass % or less, and the composition has a viscosity index of from 140 or more and 350 or less. The lubricating oil composition is provided, wherein even in the case of using a highly evaporative base oil to make the viscosity low, the friction characteristic of the lubricating oil composition can be kept low.

Low zinc lubricant composition

The disclosed technology relates to lubricants for compression ignition internal combustion engines, particularly those demonstrating at least one of improved seals performance, reduced deposit formation, and excellent durability. The present invention provides a low zinc lubricating composition comprising (a) an oil of lubricating viscosity, (b) a borated dispersant, and (c) a metal-free organo-phosphorus anti-wear additive, wherein the lubricating composition is substantially free of a metal containing sulfur coupled alkyl phenol compound. Further, the low zinc lubricating composition contains zinc in an amount less than 600 ppm by weight of the composition.

MIXED PHOSPHORUS ESTERS FOR LUBRICANT APPLICATIONS

A lubricant composition of an oil of lubricating viscosity and a phosphite ester reaction product of a monomeric phosphorous acid or an ester thereof with a first alkylene diol having two hydroxy groups in a 1,4 or 1,5 or 1,6 relationship and a second, alkyl-substituted, diol being a substituted 1,3-propylene diol, exhibits good wear and frictional performance.

Lubricating oil composition, and sliding mechanism using lubricating oil composition

Disclosed is a lubricating oil composition for low-friction sliding materials, which is used in a sliding mechanism where a DLC film containing hydrogen in an amount of from 5 atom % to 50 atom % is formed on at least one sliding surface. The lubricating oil composition contains, in the lubricant base oil therein and based on the total amount of the composition, (A) an organic zinc dithiophosphate in an amount of from 0.005% by mass to 0.12% by mass in terms of the phosphorus concentration therein, (B) an amine-based friction-reducing agent in an amount of from 0.05% by mass to 5.0% by mass, and (C) an alkaline earth metal salicylate-based detergent and/or an alkaline earth metal sulfonate-based detergent in an amount of from 0.05% by mass to 0.5% by mass in terms of the alkaline earth metal concentration therein, wherein the component (A) contains, based on the total amount of the composition, a zinc primary dialkyldithiophosphate in an amount of from 0.005% by mass to 0.05% by mass in terms of the phosphorus concentration therein.

The present invention provides a grease composition or a lubricating oil composition which is capable of effectively preventing hydrogen brittleness-caused peeling from occurring on a rolling surface of a rolling bearing, is excellent in durability in a high temperature and speed operation, and can be used for a long time. A grease-packed bearing (1) has an inner ring (2), an outer ring (3), and a plurality of rolling elements (4). A sealing member (6) for sealing a grease composition (7) is provided at openings (8a) and (8b) disposed at both axial ends of the inner ring (2) and the outer ring (3). The grease composition (7) includes a base grease composed of a base oil and a thickener and an additive added to the base grease. The additive contains at least one compound selected from among plant-derived polyphenolic compounds and compounds formed by decomposition thereof. The above-described compounds include tannin, gallic acid, ellagic acid, chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, curcumin, quercetin, and quinic acid.
