Acidic aqueous solution containing a chelating agent and the use thereof
An acidic aqueous solution containing a chelating agent and an acid, wherein the chelating agent is glutamic acid N,N-diacetic acid (GLDA) or a salt thereof, and wherein the amount of GLDA or the salt thereof is at least 10 wt %, based on the weight of the aqueous solution, and to the use thereof as an oilfield chemical, in descaling processes, or in processes in which highly concentrated aqueous acids are used, such as cleaning processes or plating processes.
REDUCED MISTING ACIDIC CLEANING, SANITIZING, AND DISINFECTING COMPOSITIONS VIA THE USE OF HIGH MOLECULAR WEIGHT WATER-IN-OIL EMULSION POLYMERS
Acidic sprayable aqueous compositions for cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting are disclosed. In particular, the sprayable compositions include an inverse emulsion polymer for modifying the viscosity of the composition and provide numerous benefits over dispersion polymer compositions used for rheology modification to reduce misting and respiratory inhalation of cleaning compositions. Compositions and methods of cleaning using the compositions having reduced amounts of airborne particulates of the composition during spray applications are provided.
Citrate salt bathroom cleaners
A hard surface cleaning composition, namely a bathroom cleaning composition, using fully neutralized ethanolamine citrate salts is disclosed. The cleaning composition is unexpectedly safe to use, environmentally-friendly and efficacious for removal of soap scum and water hardness stains at mildly acidic and/or alkaline pHs. Methods of using the same are disclosed.
LIQUID ACIDIC HARD SURFACE CLEANING COMPOSITIONS HAVING IMPROVED SHINE
Liquid acidic hard surface cleaning composition comprising certain copolymers provide good limescale removal and long lasting shine to a broad range of surfaces. Moreover, when formulated with suitable acid systems, they also provide improved surface safety over more delicate surfaces.
Sustainable laundry sour compositions with iron control
Linen treatment compositions and linen processes are disclosed which help to prevent iron deposition from wash water, and/or redeposition after iron containing stain (such as blood) removal by alkaline detergents. The linen treatment composition is a combination of a hydroxycarboxylic acid and an acid source, which may be organic or inorganic. The invention provides for effective iron control in a phosphorus-free formula that is also free of toxic or hazardous chemicals and includes sustainable, environmentally friendly ingredients, while still providing effective iron control.
Method for passivating substrate surfaces
A method for passivating substrate surfaces by removing surface contaminants. The method can remove impurities and components from the surface of a substrate to prevent corrosion and undesirable chemical activity. The method further provides an optimized surface for the application of protective barrier coatings. The method provides significant cost savings due to increased life of substrate, reduced maintenance, and superior barrier coating performance.
CLEANING PROCESS THAT PRECIPITATES YTTRIUM OXY-FLOURIDE
A method includes immersing an article comprising a yttrium based oxide in an acidic cleaning solution comprising water and 1-10 mol % HF acid. A portion of the yttrium based oxide is dissolved by the HF acid. A yttrium based oxy-fluoride is formed based on a reaction between the HF acid and the dissolved portion of the yttrium based. The yttrium based oxy-fluoride is precipitated onto the article over the yttrium based oxide to form a yttrium based oxy-fluoride coating. The acidic cleaning solution may include a yttrium based salt, which may additionally react with the HF acid to form more of the yttrium based oxy-fluoride.
Compositions and methods for the reduction of biofilm and spores from membranes
Methods of cleaning and sanitizing membrane modules within a membrane system are provided. A cleaning solution is circulated through the membrane system for about 2 to about 30 minutes. The cleaning solution includes organic acid and surfactant. A sanitizing solution is added to the cleaning solution to produce a boosted antimicrobial solution comprising an oxidizer. The boosted antimicrobial solution is then circulated through the membrane system for about 1 to about 20 minutes. The methods described are effective for reducing and removing bacterial spores and biofilms from membranes and improving membrane compatibility of effective cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
AQUEOUS COMPOSITION BASED ON NATURAL EXTRACTS FOR CLEANING, AND AS A DISINFECTANT, INSECT REPELLENT, INSECTICIDE AND FRESHENER
The invention provides a biodegradable aqueous composition based on natural extracts (natural essences and essential oils), quaternary ammonium, propylene glycol, Cellocize, EDTA, Tween 80, boric acid, aromas, colorants and water, for cleansing, disinfecting as an antiseptic and possessing a broad-spectrum bactericidal activity, ie bactericidal at once on gram positive and gram negative bacteria; also as an insecticide or at least as an insect repellent and as a freshener.
Silica-based structurants and processes for making thereof
The disclosure relates to a silica-based structurant and methods of making such a structurant. According to one embodiment, the structurant may include 55 wt % to 90 wt % of a silica having a [Na.sub.2O]/[SiO.sub.2] molar ratio of from 0.02 to 0.14 and at least 15 wt % of an adjunct salt. The structurant may have a hydrated particle size distribution such that no more than 30 wt % of the structurant has a hydrated particle size greater than 45 micrometers according to the Structurant Residue Test. The structurant may also have a tapped bulk density of from 200 g/L to 300 g/L. Methods of making the structurant include combining starting materials with a non-stoichiometric amount of acid, then drying the reaction mixture without first washing any silica-based particles to produce a silica-based structurant with adjunct salt.
