Photolabile pro-fragrances
Fragrances that provide a scent of freshness tend to be volatile and are therefore not very economical when used in typical applications such as washing or cleaning processes, so they have to be used in relatively large quantities to be able to produce adequate effects. The disclosed photolabile pro-fragrances provide a much longer-lasting sense of fragrance, in particular with a scent of freshness, when used in typical applications, thus allowing said fragrances to be used economically.
Pro-fragrance compounds
A compound is provided of Formula (I), wherein R.sup.1 represents a C.sub.3 to C.sub.20 hydrocarbon group derived from an alcohol of formula R.sup.1OH, from a formate of formula R.sup.1OCH═O, or a cinnamyl aldehyde of Formula (II) wherein a compound of Formula I is capable of releasing a compound, when oxidized, selected from the group consisting of a fragrant alcohol of formula R.sup.1OH, a fragrant formate ester of formula R.sup.1OCH=0 and aryl aldehyde of Formula (III), wherein R.sup.2 is, independently, hydrogen atom, hydroxyl group, optionally substituted C.sub.1-C.sub.6 alkyl group, C.sub.1-C.sub.6 alkoxy group, or -0(C=0)CH(CH3).sub.2 wherein any two of R.sup.2 may form an optionally substituted 5 or 6 membered ring. The compounds are useful for example as a precursor for the prolonged delivery or release of fragrant compounds such as fragrant alcohols, fragrant aldehydes or fragrant formates. ##STR00001##
MICROCAPSULES CONTAINING A GAS-GENERATING PHOTOLABILE POLYMER AND USES THEREOF
The present invention relates to water-dispersable microcapsules comprising an oil phase, e.g. a perfume, containing a photolabile polymer comprising α-ketoacid or α-ketoester group capable of generating a gas upon exposure to light. The gas is able to cause an extension or the breaking of the microcapsule allowing the release of the oil phase and thus increasing the long-lastingness of the odor perception. The present invention concerns also the use of said microcapsules in perfumery as well as perfuming compositions or perfumed articles comprising the invention's microcapsules to provide a prolonged release of fragrant molecules.
Polysiloxane conjugates as fragrance delivery systems
The present invention relates to the field of perfumery. More particularly, it concerns polymers derived from siloxane derivatives and comprising at least one β-thio carbonyl moiety capable of liberating an active molecule such as, for example, an α,β-unsaturated ketone or aldehyde. The present invention concerns also the use of polymers in perfumery as part of a perfuming or malodor counteracting composition as well as the perfuming compositions or perfumed articles comprising the invention's compounds.
Thioether derivatives as precursors for a controlled release of active molecules
The present invention relates to the field of perfumery. More particularly, it concerns short chain β-sulfur carbonyl moieties capable of liberating an active molecule, such as a perfuming α,β-unsaturated ketone or aldehyde. The present invention concerns also the use of said compounds in perfumery as well as the perfuming compositions or perfumed articles comprising the invention's compounds.
ORGANIC COMPOUNDS
The present invention relates to compounds of formula (I) as herein defined, capable of releasing fragrant compounds in a controlled manner into the surroundings. The present invention is also concerned with a process for their production, and consumer products comprising them.
Thioether precursors for fragrant ketones and aldehydes
Disclosed is a use of a compound of formula (I), a composition of matter comprising a compound of formula (I) and a consumer product comprising a compound of formula (I). ##STR00001##
TREATMENT COMPOSITIONS WITH PRO-FRAGRANCE SILICONE POLYMERS THAT COMPRISE HETEROCYCLIC MOIETIES
Treatment compositions that include pro-fragrance silicone polymers, where the pro-fragrance silicone polymers include one or more heterocyclic moieties, where the heterocyclic moieties include a residue of an aldehyde-containing perfume raw material, a ketone-containing perfume raw material, or a mixture thereof. Related premix compositions. Methods of making and using such pro-fragrance silicone polymers, related premix compositions, and treatment compositions. Related pro-fragrance silicone polymers and precursor silicone polymers.
Cleavable surfactant
Cleavable surfactants of formula (I) ##STR00001##
having a total hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of between 3 and 18 and wherein A is a group capable of releasing a flavor or fragrance aldehyde of formula (R.sup.1)CHO or a flavor or fragrance ketone of formula (R.sup.1)(R.sup.2)CO and is of formula ##STR00002##
wherein the wavy line indicates the location of the bond between L and A; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 represent a hydrogen atom or a saturated or unsaturated C.sub.1-C.sub.18 hydrocarbon group, provided that at least one of the R.sup.1 or R.sup.2 groups has 6 consecutive carbon atoms and that both R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 taken together comprise a maximum of 18 carbon atoms; and L is a linear, branched or cyclic, saturated or unsaturated C.sub.3 to C.sub.40 hydrocarbon group. These surfactants solubilize and/or stabilize flavor and fragrance aldehydes and ketones in an aqueous environment and at the same time to control their release by hydrolysis.
PERFUMED CONSUMER PRODUCTS
Described herein is a perfumed consumer product including a pro-perfume compound and a trigger, where the pro-perfume compound and the trigger are physically separated from each other by including the pro-perfume compound or the trigger in a particle, the pro-perfume compound and the trigger in different particles or the pro-perfume compound and the trigger in different compartments. Also described herein are methods of using said perfumed consumer product to confer, enhance, improve or modify a perfuming effect of an article.
